What creative talent should Gunn and Safran go after?

I don't know if Jordan qualifies as "really famous".

He's pretty famous.

But to throw another name out for the thread question: Brad Bird. For whatever.

Baz Luhrmann’s New Gods. Don’t argue with me. :o

Could just be a mutual exchange of respect between the two, but I spy Edgar Wright in the likes of Gunn’s Certified Fresh post on IG. 🕵️‍♂️

Jeff Sneider hinted last week that Joss Whedon is involved in the new DCU, perhaps as the writer of World’s Finest.

Wait, I love that though.

Gunn has talked about getting some masterpiece pitches from famous creatives. It’s obvious Baz talking Darkseid

He’s perfect for The Terrifics or Plastic Man (which could feature The Terrifics).

If not Del Toro, get the Talk to Me guys for Justice League Dark.

See if Peter Jackson has any interest in New Gods.

1) Thank you for saying this, GDT

2) Arthurian horror Etrigan the Demon movie, pls and thank you. :o

Scoop up Sam Raimi and Ryan Coogler for something.

Raimi has said he’d like to do a Batman film. I need to finally get around to watching Darkman to determine whether or not I’m on board with that.

Eh I don't think I need Sam Raimi on Batman, I feel like we've seen enough of his work over the past 3 decades to have an idea of what his Batman could be like.

But I'd take Raimi on Constantine or a JSA project.

Coogler would be my pick for Staitc, if there weren't so many rights issues with that property. But also he could bring a lot of nuance and humanity to Mr. Terrific (yes I want black talent to represent black voices in comics). But Coogler could do anything.

I get the feeling Drew Goddard might be writing Batman, I'd be open to him directing.

I want David Leitch on a Lobo project. Been calling for it since I saw Bullet Train a few years ago, and he wants to do it. With Momoa those guys could make a helluva good time on the big screen.

Travis Knight's star is on the rise, so he may be a tough get now. He's putting out good work and He-Man will be his biggest test to date.

Gunn recently said he'd love if he could Reeves to direct something in the DCU. But I honestly don't know what that would be.

Darkman is pretty rad. It has the zaniness that I think could translate well to Brave and the Bold.

So not interested In a Raimi Batman. Something about it just feels like what I wouldn't want for the character. GDT can do anything though.

Hellblazer. HBO. Bryan Fuller. David Slade.

Ultimate pipedream since it seems like Fuller’s projects either never make it to air or only do so once he’s walked away, but idgaf.

An Edgar Wright Flash film, would be something else.

I wouldn’t be opposed, but I feel like Flash is going to be a ways off (more likely than not to distance itself from the 2023 film), so honestly…

Let’s see Wright’s Batman.

You need a strong choice of director and he is that, while also being decidedly different than Reeves. His past with Ant-Man would suggest that he’s really the guy for a more off-kilter left-of-center hero… but the same was true of Gunn for awhile.

I really think there’s something to this.

Glen Powell Bruce directed by Wright it is then. But tbh yea he could be a fun choice with a good script.

I think Afflecks Batman was rumoured to be James Bond like? They gotta change it up here. Dont necessarily like skipping to Damian but yea go wild. Proper League of Assasins, Mr Freeze, Court of Owls etc.

He’s come close to doing Batman and Wolverine before. Wonder if Gunn might be able to seal the deal. I know the rumor has been Plastic Man, but I’m not sure I can picture that…
