Here is why I can't stand them.

I look at a world full of famine, war, disease, and real tragedy.
But then these little pukes who spend more on makeup and hair products then my girlfriend does.... These repugnant little crap stains have the audacity to act like they're lives are so insurmountably hard.
Like the whole world is balancing on their shoulders, like no one has it worse, and by God they have to let everyone know.

They inspire violent feelings within me, I'd like to pack them in a box and ship them to Northern Uganda.

Emo is like..................depressed, kind of emotionally driven. Goth is just dark and demonic. They not depressed, they are crazy and don't deny it, they have embraced it.

I honestly think that a majority of them are so sad because they were spoiled rotten and they're susceptible to fads.

I figure it's common knowledge that if you give a kid everything s/he wants, that in the end they'll be happy with nothing... They'll ache about what they don't have, but once they get it they won't be satisfied and they'll move on to the next grievance.

Granted I haven't spent much time with emo's, because I can't stand them. This guy I knew wore his stupid looking tight clothes, made his hair all ridiculous, had the painted nails... Whatever, I can deal with that to some extent although I find that much investment in image is pretentious...

But what really sickened me about him was his constant whining about this girl he wanted, who had a boyfriend, and he wouldn't let it go, and he'd have these pitiable MSN nicknames all the time, and crap poetry attached...

It can't describe the futility of these people... Why do they need to have done something to me for them to be so damn useless. Live and let live, sure, but to waste your time wallowing in sadness and subjecting your friends to that downer **** is too much...

Emos. I see a lot of hate for the subculture on the forums. I'm just curious if its a bad experience, like, say, emos burned down your house and killed your parents, or they were just flat out obnoxious to you in the mall, that fuels your dislike of the folks.

I agree. If you go to the Rock Band or Guitar Hero forums on Gamefaqs, you have people calling every single band in it they dont like Emo. My Chemical Romance, not emo, Fall Out Boy, not emo. They're both pop-punk. Emo would be akin to Hawthorne Heights (who actually arent terrible...well, there first album anyway) or Weezers Pinkerton album (also, not bad). It's like they see anyone dressed in black and they think "EMO!!!!!" which isnt true.

Also, Emo's do indeed suck, whiney little b**ches...
