I just realized that fans are really going to turn on this one. I did not think that was possible.
not even close on both counts!!!!!! neither were worse than ASM!!!
Stan Lee's cameo in ASM was arguably the best he's ever had. And at least the ASM after credits scene hinted at SOMETHING about the future and brought some mystery.

Hell yes it was!
Stan's cameo in "Thor" was pretty sweet as well, despite how short it was.
1) Lack of Tony in his Iron Man suit
2) That little kid got too much screen time
3) No War Machine in the beginning
4) Not enough Iron Patriot action
5) Where are the easter eggs?
6) Where is S.H.I.E.L.D. ?
7) AIM is present in the movie but there is no reference to M.O.D.O.K.
8) Where's Justin Hammer? He said he'll be seeing pepper and tony real soon?
9) The Tony/Banner post-credits scene was boring and did not give any hint as to what's going to happen in the future
10) They tried to hard with the humor
11) Tony didn't get Extremis in him
12) Mandarin wasn't the epic arch-nemesis as in the comics

The post-credits scene. I don't like the joke ones. I don't mind humor in the actual movies, as long as I think it's funny. But I've come to expect something cool to excite for the next movie after the credits, not just "Oh, them wacky 'Vengers."
Other than that the movie was great. Emotional, fun, hilarious, and it had William Sadler.
Post credit scenes should be a 'reward' for sitting through those long arse credits and when I think about what I saw in the post credit scene in IM3 I could have been heading home a few minutes earlier and beating the crowds out of the cinema. A complete waste of my time.
I never trust superhero films with a "3" in the title
totally agree. I sorta feel like I got swindled after watching that flick when i should have known better! Damn! And a big butt and a smile!totally agree. I sorta feel like I got swindled after watching that flick when i should have known better! Damn!
How are they going to fill the huge hole in his chest? Does it just close up?
So, who really was in charge of the Ten Rings organization? There was nothing to tie the Mandarin in with the very thing they used to set him up in the franchise starting with the very first scene of the very first movie? That's a giant fricking plot hole.

Damn, that's a good question. I never thought of that.
That's what really bothers me. The Ten Rings were villains in the first and third films (technically, they also give Vanko the envelope) and they get no comeuppance. Even though the Mandarin was a complete joke and Killian is dead, the organization still exists and still committed acts of terror. Absolutely no comeuppance whatsoever.
The guys in the first Iron Man film can just be thought of as some fringe group that fell for the Killian/Mandarin hype (assuming it builds up, peaking in Iron Man 3), and acted in their name without true association.
I agree on all items accept for M.O.D.O.K. The film was cheesy enough as it was.![]()
I could've lived without a reference to the classic Beekeper suits if they'd just had 1 M.O.D.O.K. insertion. In a movie with no easter eggs for the comics fans, or expansion on exactly what A.I.M. is about, this would've gone a long way. Right now it feels like A.I.M. funneled all their efforts into Extremis and not much else.....i don't think killan should have been in the 1999 scenes. they should have introduced killian through maya in the present, and he and tony to not have any background but through maya; so as not to confuse killian's motives.
