Like, do we still think after our hearts stop?

Is our brain still proccessing thoughts those 10 minutes its active after our heart stops?

They say the hearing is the last to go. That sucks if you ask me.

What do you think?

Isn't there a thread about this?

But anyways, I read that when you die your brain still has those 10 minutes activation, and than you lucid dream. And well, buy Waking Life and you'll know what I'm talking about ;)

I'm living forever so not worried

You go to Heaven, if you been good person all your life.

You go to Hell, if you been bad person all your life

Why give anyone the "opportunity" to go to Hell?

Would you condemn your child to an eternity of ball-scalding torment for being disobedient for a relatively short, fixed amount of time?

Eternity is long time. :whatever:

Your body shuts off...ever been unconsious? If so, that's probably the closest to death as your gonna get as to "what happens when you die"

I would like to think that when we die, our consciousness just kind of roams free wherever we want throughout the universe for as long as we want . . .

I would like see criminals, rapists, sex offenders etc.... go to hell

Sammy Davis Jr. meets you in an all white room with no furniture, pulls out his glass eye and polishes it on the sleeve of his all white tunic and says one of these two things to you:

"Hey, man, you weren't a real groovy cat down there if you know what I'm sayin', so I'm afraid you're gonna have to do it all over again and try to 'get it', ya dig?" And then you wake up as a newborn in any one of the millions of species of life on this planet.

OR, he says...

"Hey, man, you threw a stone cold party down there. It was the coolest and you 'get it', so you get to go on to the next level." And then you're off to more advanced adventures.

It's true.

I think that would kind of suck. Maybe it's just me, but if I messed up in one life I don't know if I'd really wanna go through it all over again.

Yeeeeah. The problem is that the god described in the Bible would send you to hell for much less than those offenses. :o

If you were born in their shoes (same genetics and environment) do you really think you would've done any better?

You wouldn't.

we fly throughout the Beautiful universe, seeing all the planets, stars and galaxy's.. then we crash land on Gods Front porch.

yeah, this is true except it's actually John Ritter that greets you :o

It's probably the best half of whatever we hope or believe.

God is likely to be merciful.

Entities with multi-billion IQ's are funny that way. :o

That's only when Sammy is on vacation.

oh yeah, how could I forget . . . and when John Ritter breaks a leg or something, what with all those couches he trips over; it's Dean Cain's career that greets you . . .

You wouldn't.

That really doesn't make sense.

"If you had this person's mind would you do better?"

Of course not. Cause then you'd just be that person...

I think from a First Person perspective we never actually die. Our consciousness just bounces from one time frame to the next. Like Desmond in "Flashes Before Your Eyes." Sometimes you remember. Sometimes you don't, but subconsiously you retain some of the things you learned from previoius.

For example if you were to almost get hit by a car. That is when time splits, & you actually got hit by the car, & died, so in one time frame your family is greiving your loss, & in another you are telling them how close you came to dieing.

This also works for going back in time. You could wake up from a bad dream at 8 years old. Where you dreamt that you almost got hit by a car.
