To be fair, who would have thought that Sam Raimi would have brought us those masterpieces. (Me! That's who! I love the guy!)...
I love that you mention Raimi. I was looking at his diretorial history. And while a lot of the films were great flicks by cult standards (read no oscar nods), nothing that truely stands out with any critics. Yet, he proved himself with the Spider-Man franchise. If you had told me they guy who made Evil Dead was doing Spider-Man, I would have thought you were out of your mind. But, he stunned a lot of people. Bay may do the same thing.

I've been a Raimi fan since I was 10. IMHO Evil Dead (the first one) is the best horror movie after The Exorcist. I always knew Raimi was a master storyteller. He proved with "A Simple Plan" even before Spider-man.

He almost lost me with that Xena crap tho. (I'm just kidding, what he did with that was brilliant considering he was working with practically $0 budget).

Truth be told though... Bay does not come from that class of directors. And I don't think he really looks up to them either. I think he truly thinks that his brand of "music video" movies is the new wave... the "future." Clearly, Raimi proved that old-fashion moviemaking can still make you $1 billion.

xena was ***ing awesome....

i wish lucy would be in more action roles

She's gained a lot of support for Wonder Woman. I saw her on celebrity duets, she's hot still.

i think a balance could've been struck between the classic designs everyone loves and newer, more realistic designs. i think prime looks great, the decepticons seem a little strange, but it's nothing that would stop me from seeing the movie.

Which brings back the question, if the Autobots look similar in features then why does the Decepticon have a whole new design (in regards to regular decept's ie Megs and Starscream)

they're trying to make the decepticons look evil. which sucks because it tells me they don't act evil enough to make it clear.

Just like Gobots did. Apparently it was ahead of its time.
Sorry I couldn't resist... but it's true.

So what made the decepts evil in the cartoon? It was there personality, the way they went about there business. The sign of a good actor real or not is the ability to portray the character without using clichés or obvious traits or something along those lines. Look at Dr Haniblechter (sp?) Anthony Hopkins can play a sweet roll as much as an evil roll, thats the sign of great acting.

that's what i'm saying, you should be able to tell the decpticons are evil by their actions, they shouldn't have to look creepy or evil. although, i will say blackout looks really cool

That was definately one of the most interesting aspects of the original... as compared to its other contemporaries where the bad guys were easy to ping out (Gobots, Masters, etc). Decepticons pretty much looked like everyone else (Dirty looks and means stares notwithstanding).

Unfortunately, they felt the need to dumb it down for this movie.
I mean, Megatron actually [BLACKOUT]roars in the movie like a monster.[/BLACKOUT]

Click on the Amazing Asimo link in my SIG to find out.

thats pretty sick, now all we need is about 100 of them to malfunction and turn evil and another 100 that are good, and have an all out fight between them. Transformers sequel possibly????? hmmmmmm

Bring on Robotech (as long as Bay doesn't get his hands on it)

Based on the designs, looks like I'm going to be free on May 27 with eight bucks in my pocket.

ok but Transformers comes out 7/7/07

When I checked it said May 27. I really don't care when it comes out, because Wit those piss poor designs, I'll save my money for GoBots.
