How is it random when their the one's partly pushing for it and their plan was for it to go on as long as the spider man movies went on? which was 7 movies as well. with the add spin off's in prequel and sequel form to boot.
A direct sequel to The Last Stand isnt needed. The franchise can continue without it, as it is doing now. And how has the X-Men franchise deviated from the above plan? It hasnt. The X-Men franchise is the longest running new superhero franchise, surpassing the Spider-Man franchise in both its number of movies and years under its belt. The fourth X-Men related movie is filming and set to be released next summer. The same cant be said for Spider-Man.
Btw if you haven't figured it out the wolverine movie is a prequel which leads him to his present day in the film. so it's not all past event's be for he met the X-Men. kinda the same with mags too. I'm just taking the wait an see approach.
Okay...
