Its no surprise that that is Amazon.com's Best DVD of the year so far. And its a Fox release too so they're capable of doing something like this. For a flick that disappointed at the box office as well.

It's a pity that not much character development was filmed and cut out by the studio, otherwise I would be championing for a director's cut. I wonder if Ratner was drunk while filming "Red Dragon". It would explain the 2 hour running time instead of Ratner's usual 1 and 1/2 hour flicks.

How do Bobby freezing Phat and the original Phoenix threat affect the PG-13 rating? They weren't inappropriate at all, or at least not as inappropriate as Wolverine slicing people up in the final battle.

There is probably a fair amount of stuff that was filmed that is either sitting on a shelf somewhere or hit the cutting room floor, never got up again and is gone for good. As an example of Fox doing this in the past we know for a fact there were a few scenes that were definitely filmed for the Fantastic Four that never made the film or the DVD, not even as deleted scenes (we saw on-set photos taken of an art gallery, complete with different sculptures of the Thing in the window, film of which has never seen the light of day). There was also alternate effects used in different scenes too, which seems to depend upon what region you were in as to what ones you saw in the theatres (afaik these alternate effects scenes aint been included on any DVD either).

So if any of this rumored footage for X3 does still exist somewhere it would be nice if somewhere down the line we did get to see it. If it's in a directors cut (possible considering how much film was available to be put back into Daredevil by it's director), that'd be fine by me.

There was also some stuff filmed for the first X-men that wasnt on the DVD. There was a longer conversation between Cyclops and Xavier in the lab right before Logan walks in to tell us that Rogue is gone. It was in the novelization and dialogue from the conversation can actually be heard in one of the tv spots.

I am glad he stayed at the mansion. To me, he is an X-Man and needed to stay with everyone. Going back to Canada to bulls*** is lame. That is one thing I can thank Zak and Simon for.

If it is just a 2 disc set then I will take out the standard widescreen dvd in the Collector's Edition set & replace it with the Director's Cut or Special Edition dvd.
