I've done the reading, hell I even did a term paper on the "new world order" and the culture of conpiracy theorists....I do not doubt that there are people in charge that we are not aware of the existence of....
Thanks for the book recommendation. I happen to work for the public library so it will not be a problem obtaining a copy.
In turn I would recommend the following:
The Corporation (sample)
And
Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers (sample)
When you put the two together it is very disturbing.
That is also my sentiments.
I will not say I believe all of this information on "New World orders" and Global conspiracies verbatim but I do believe there exist those who are conspirators against the human race.
When you say against the human race....do you mean to undermine democracy or what? I follow, but not entirely
What does it mean to be Black enough?
What does it mean to be black or African American?
For myself claiming to be African American just means I acknowledge and claim the origins of my African ancestors over other parts of my genetic background and heritage and also that I'm an American in the sense of me not only being born and raised here but that my ancestors played an important part of the foundation and construction of this country.
With that said I think its even more important to live up to our potential as a human being and live down to the stereotypical traits that we as a people have been assigned by others throughout the centuries.
We can have our own culture but I think it should be clean and decent.
We can have our own food but I think it should be fit for optimum human health.
We can and should have our own mind, a free mind that demonstrates our intelligence and ability for moral and rational thought; a grown-up adult mind that no longer requires us to be told what to do or how to think or not to think period. A mind that adds to the American think tank that assists in the progression of American society and in all areas of development from social, economic, political to education and health care for all people. In another word; Leadership. First and foremost to our black children and then to each other and the rest of the public.
We should be a people that in spite of our humble and degrading origins as the children of slaves demonstrate the strength of the human spirit by picking ourselves up and finding solutions to the entire social and economic issues that plague our community OURSELVES. Do for self and show that we are not victims nor do we have a victim mentality that results in waiting for a never arriving Savior to save us.
Its not an issue of being black enough, its an issue of us being man and woman enough to demonstrate that we no longer on the bottom of the global totem pole but we are equal to every other group of people on this planet in EVERY sense of the word.
I know this is a very idealistic commentary but ideas are the substance that reality is made of and ideas start in our mind.
Once we as African Americans change our mentality then we can and will achieve all of the things mentioned and more.
Raybia
It's funny how we all came from the same place, yet have so many different languages, races, cultures, etc.
I always thought you lived in Brazil.

Raybia, I commend you for your comments, but I'm also going to say a few things you may find to be offensive, even if they are true.
First, let's not forget that it was the idealism and compassion you speak of that prompted WHITE people to free the slaves.
Second, despite how terrible slavery was, it resulted in the pollination of America with African immigrants. Were it not for slavery, this would be a much more WHITE country, and a much worse country because of it.
Finally, I could give a crap less what color anyone's skin is. I think most Americans feel that way. While African Americans should feel just as empowered as any other race to pick themselves up and succeed, it should not be at the expense of others under any circumstance. Maybe if more African Americans would listen more carefully to the wisdom of Bill Cosby, things might improve.
There is only one race - the human race. All sub-categories describing the human race are shallow attempts at either a) seeking attention or b) seeking superiority. In either case, it's shameful and should be dutifully ignored and/or punished.

Thanks. I'll read them.
I mean watch them.

Humanity is a race that can change it's appearence to suit it's enviroment.Like an animal, over time..we change. It's ironic, when our ancestors first left Africa..they were black,or what we would call black in our present day.But when the left, they were just people...or hominids.
As for me,i mentioned only once on SHH where i am from.
Ironic isn't it?But it's a very interesting topic.I only think raybia, terry and BlackLantern are black.
Race? u mean species. So what's the difference between blacks and people?Humanity is a race that can change it's appearence to suit it's enviroment.Like an animal, over time..we change. It's ironic, when our ancestors first left Africa..they were black,or what we would call black in our present day.But when the left, they were just people...or hominids.

It was said before that blacks often use the past as a excuse for their present situation.Black women are marrying white men, because black men don't do anything for themselfs.
I agree with the sentiment that there is an upward trend (in America anyway) but it's nowhere near the level it was in the 60'sIronically,if anything i think racism is returning to where it was before 1960.
And how exactly would they have accomplished that in the 1800's, what would have been the methodology? I'm curious as to "your take" on that...If white people had not given slaves their freedom,i think they would have been sent back to Africa. The rise of machines would have ment no more need for slaves.America would mostly be a white and asian country then.

Racism has its pockets of power, but I really do not think its on the rise. Being a black man, I have a decent job, live in a decent apartment, live a normal life but amm saddened by the lack of the willingness of the black community to take ownership
I hope I'm White enough.![]()
Watch more episodes of "Friends" and you'll be fine.![]()
Hey guys,
What does it mean to you for Barack Obama to be running for President? And not just that but the fact that he has an excellent chance. Do you feel in a way proud? Do you feel glad that things have come far enough that a black man can go for President? Do you maybe feel disheartened at some bigoted reactions (people saying he is Muslim and so forth) and possible death threats against him?
I'm def afraid of the death threats that will inevitably be sent if he gets elected![]()
