And let's lay off the Schumacher cracks. I think it's clear we don't want neon or nipples. But are there any aspects of either the comics and/or the previous series that you'd rather do without? Characters, plot devices, story arcs, things like that?
I could do without the rotating love interests.

I agree. But then I feel that way about putting the Lizard in the Spider-man movies. And Venom to an extent. But we'll see what ahppens with him.

I don't want to see Robin yet, Batman 4 good time to see him with an different director if happens. I don't want Ventriloquist and the Scareface

I don't want to see the Mad Hatter, Scarface and the Ventriloquist, Mr. Freeze, Maxie Zeus, Killer Croc or any of the other more cartoonish villains. I aslo don't want to see Bane. Don't get me wrong, he's a great villain, I just don't think he'd translate well onto the screen. Ironically, I also definitely do NOT want to see a watered-down "serial killer" version of the Joker. I want the Clown Prince of Crime, not the Pogo the Clown..

I'm also in the camp that doesn't want to see Robin.

I'm anti-Robin (at least for now) & I'm on the fence about Freeze. My only problem w/Bane is that he might not get justice. I'm with you on everyone else.

Saw no point in mentioning him. What the hell was he, anyway?

No black mask! sorry but i dont like think he will be needed

Black mask is perfect for these movies and will be in TDK... I think we all agree on holding off Robin and the sidekicks until after BB3... but do Mr. Freeze some justice please... wouldn't mind one bit if he eventually were in a flick... but I want to see the Batman/Supes cross over the most...

Everyone besides Two -Face and the Joker.

^You do know the question is not only for The Dark Knight but for future movies too, right?

Yes

Well don't you think if they kept using the same 2 villains it would get boring?

No not at all. You establish the Joker in 2 and set-up Two-face for 3, instead of introducing these (assumingly) interesting characters just to dump them in an hour and a half.

It'll never happen, just my ideal film series.

How about after TDK and the BB3 movies?

I don't care about those really, I don't have faith in the series being good after 3.

I just don't think most of Batman's villains can work with the established tone of this series.

I would have never guessed Scarecrow would work but he did.

Bat-Mite, anyone?!?!?

You know, Bat-Mite, Mxyzptlk and Robin have so much in common.

Just so's ya know, Bat-Mite was an imp from the 5th dimension like Mr. Mxyzptlk.

As it stands right now, I say no Robin. And no letting the villains overshadow Batman. First we get the Joker getting top billing. The second movie opened w/the Penguin's origin. The 3rd had a question mark enveloping the bat symbol as its logo. And the 4th opened with the bat symbol being frozen.

I agree with Chris. Batman always needs to be the dominate one as far as symbols go for the movies.

I don't want to see anymore Katie Holmes. She was so lame as Bruce Wayne's love interest.

AND DEFINITELY NO BATGIRL!
I think she hurts Batman's image even more than Robin. It says "anybody can put on my costume & do what I do, & I'll just accept it. I'm not a fearsome creature of the night, I'm a club".

I don't want to see Bruce and Rachel getting together. It's just too predictable.

Absolutely, no matter how much Batgirl is part of the mythos.

If they use the Cassandra Cain Batgirl, she probably wouldn't be so bad. The one I'm not sure I want to see is Penguin. Not because I don't think he could be great, but because there's very few people who have the right stature to play him who aren't known for comedy. Danny DeVito's performance was rare, and Bob Hoskins, no longer Eddie Valiant, looks worse for the role than even a makeup job could cure. If someone like John Rhys-Davies came along, they would be my first candidate. If that happened, I like to entertain myself with fantasies of his deformity coming from thugs who broke his nose, put a welding torch to his fingers, and smashed his hip with a crowbar before Batman intervened. So you see, nothing is impossible to do if they do it right. Even Robin.
