So if Nolan had included the Lazurus Pits how do you think that would effect your viewing of Batman Begins/coupled with The Dark Knight?

What if...

During the end of his training, when Bruce is presented with executing the criminal... and he causes the explosions... what if the explosions had inadvertedly killed Ducard/Ras and when Bruce discovers this, the monk/neighborhood guy he takes the body to brings him to the Lazarus Pit and Bruce either witnesses Ras being revived or he leaves and just the audience gets to witness it.

Then...

At the end of the movie, after the train wreck, one extra ending scene is added to the movie (probably in-between Bruce/Rachel's kiss scene and the last scene/escalation-talk scene)... where Ras is again brought to the Lazarus pit and he comes back to life again... and perhaps he either 1) declares vengeance against Bruce and plans to attack Gotham again, or (and more creatively, unique ending...) 2) Ras decides to let Bruce have his chance to save Gotham... and just keep an eye out...to see if he fails...

So if Batman Begins HAD that what would you think?

I think it would work. Nolan's realism would of course be tossed out the window, and coupled with TDK, it would feel uneven, since BB would have supernatural elements and TDK would have absolutely NO supernatural aspects, but then again the Joker doesn't call for any.

and then with Batman 3, maybe Nolan would of brought in another supernatural villain and made all of the trilogy feel more balanced with the supernatural/non-supernatural villains.

I don't think it would have worked... Nolan only includes things that are ridiculous WITHIN our reality (i.e. things that are possible but very very unlikely like batman and rachel falling 30 stories and being fine, microwave emitter story etc.) If he used Ra's in his supernatural form, he'd have to acknowledge other impossible rules, like clayface's powers, mr. freezes gun, Killer Croc and so on, rendering his whole take on the franchise pretty much completely compromised and it may as well be another director, writing team, whatever. I think that supernatural Ra's in this universe just doesn't fit, and if he did fit, it'd be a completely different "Universe" in which this series was set.

I think the Lazarus pit could definitely be put into a sequel. I'd love if they did a third and, either in the course of the movie or at the very end, Neeson pops up, leading the way to a fourth.

They still can use the Lazarus pit. They could easily say Talia went to Gotham, got Ra's, found him dying, and took him to a Lazarus pit to rejuvenate him.

Yeah, even though I much appreciate Nolan's attempts at "realism" with his Batman movies, I don't think BB including Lazarus Pits and Ras' immortality would absolutely destroy BB. Sure it would be different, it would change the tone a bit, but I don't think the movie would be any less enjoyable.... I mean Iron Man kinda takes itself seriously, yet is way less realistic than Batman Begins/The Dark Knight, and its just as good and just as popular....

Plus I am all for letting villains LIVE.

I hate it when villains die.

I understand Two-Face dying... it made the ending of TDK make more sense, but I still wish he was alive. Likewise, I wish Ras was alive.

Killing villains de-populates a superhero's world and makes it less interesting. How can Batman be interesting if all his villains are dead? Look at Spiderman. I think Raimi's Spiderman's world is LESS interesting with both Goblins, Venom, and Dr Oct all dead.

Villains make the world go round :)

I think lettin' the villians (i.e. Ras and Two Face) die isn't a bad thing. There's a good sense of realism and also for more villians in the future to make an appearance.

I see two sides to this argument because yes its good to have villains realistic and die however, it's also nice to see a world full of freaks

The Lazarus Pit and the actual immortality of Ra's Al Ghul are things that just outright contradict with the tone that BB and TDK set. I can't see such elements in the Nolanverse. Besides, the Lazarus Pit adds a bit of a Deus Ex Machina feel, which is not exactly the best thing in storytelling.

I don't think that would work in the context of the Nolanverse and I don't really think that it is necessary in any way.
