I havent seen the directors cut(though Ive wanted to) and I jsut want to know why and how it is better than the original.

I not a huge DD fan, but I still am a fan and I thought the movie, albit a little cheesey, was pretty good. And I was actually a fan of Affleck as DD.

There is a little more character development. That's about it.

Well, for starters, it fleshes out Matt's prowess as an attourney. It provides a greater understanding to the reach of the Kingpin, better explains the motives for the murder trial. It adds a little more depth to the relationship between Matt and Elektra.

The little things that add up to a lot.

There is also a bit more added to the fight at the end with Kingpin. A few extra shots that make it better since the theatrical cut had some ****** edits, that made me think wtf.

The Directors Cut of DD ca nbe found really cheap at places like walmart (in canada it is in the 2 for 10 bins for example) you would do yourself a diservice not picking it up.

I really didn't find it any better.

if you can overlook coolio's cheesy acting, it provides a more rounded sory with more lawyer stuff from matt.

This has almost nothing to do with this topic other than it's about the DD movie but I recently found out Joe Quesada told them not to give Bullseye a costume in the movie and I still don't understand the logic in that.

I didn't. I don't mind DareDevil's though. this movie in general isn't bad but the scene's are too mixed cause there are a lot of scenes with a completely serious tone and then there are scenes like the fight in the park.

Yeah, I saw it there(And Elektra which I really dont mind), but I really wanted ot get Jay and Silent Bob, so i got that.

Whoever decided not to release the Directors cut of the movie to theatres was totally wrong! This movie would of done even better if the DC version had been released!

I really enjoyed Coolios scenes and the way they fleshed out the murder of the prostitute.

The whole movie is better and what I really liked was the additional footage of DD fighting with his batons.

I've said and will say again, I think the DC cut of Daredevil is one of the best superhero movies that has been made!

Nothing much really....people act like the Director's cut is a VAST improvement over the theatrical cut and it really isn't. Kingpin seems a little more like a bad guy...more charecter development for matt and thats about it. The director's cut is a bit overrated

^ yeah. It adds half a point in the rating. that's it.

Really??? I thought it was so much better it seemed like a completely different movie. Oh, it also stands as the first clue that FOX is clueless and they suck.

Thank you!
The director's cut adds some decent character stuff to the movie, but all of the things I didn't like about the film are still in there too. The director's cut improves a movie that was about a 5 on a 1-10 scale to just barely a 6.
There has never been a DVD release that had both cuts, but I did see that the Blu-ray combined both cuts and all of the features from the DVDs. It's a pretty loaded Blu-ray. I thought about getting it for half a second...then I remembered that I didn't care for the movie. :o

Well i have that very DVD......

Why would Fox listen to Joe Quesada...?

It has a really good amount of new footage and basically adds a new story to the film, but not effecting the actual Daredevil story itself.

It fills a lot of the gaps, particularly where "the word is out on the Kingpin".

I have no idea but the first named character to die(he is thrown in front a train by Daredevil) in the movie is named Jose Quesada. I always found that whole thing odd cause you know Daredevil kills a guy cause he couldn't get him convicted.

And that is not Daredevil. Sure the film was filled with some corny fight scenes and acting, but that is one scene that straight up violates the essence of the character.

As said above, it provides much more story to flesh out Murdock's lawyer skills and also ties up threads that were in question from the theatrical cut (How did the reporter know Wilson Fisk was King Pin, How did Murdock know the police were coming after Fisk and not him, etc.)

However it cut out the Murdock/Elektra love scene (cause Murdock would NEVER fall in love with someone he fooled around with after knowing only 2 days *scans through Matt Murdock's little black book: brail edition. Vol. 2*) and yet still kept the playground fight scene between the two of them!

Plus, the original dvd was packed with tons of special features which fanboys will dig.(interviews with the many writers of Daredevil comics, behind the scenes feature, an interview with the blind acting consultant, etc.)

The director's cut just had the "Making of the Directors Cut"... it's a director's cut people. They just put back in the stuff they took out. The featurette should have only been 5 minutes long. NO! That thing was long as hell and didn't do anything really except repeat the same sentiment: Shoulda-coulda-woulda been rated R.

I say stick with the theatrical release.

The only big change is that the plot actually makes sense. The godawful cgi, the inconsistent tone of the movie, and the park scene are still there.
