LOL. I got an email from my My ESPN Today daily emails and it says SHAZAM and the front of the email says Shazam The Rock is playing supervillain Black Adam in the 'Shazam' movie. So who's Black Adam?

Hmm...was it really all Hammers fault that Lone Ranger sucked overall??

Considering he was the only one in the movie who really sucked, yeah, it is his fault he was horrible.

Give him some decent material to work with and he will be fine. Plus....The Rock as Black Adam will be stealing the show ahead of whoever is cast as Billy/Shazam.

He had better material in The Social Network and still wasn't fine. He was tolerable at best.

Bomer isn't a bad choice but he has a very slight build and IMO he's almost too model-like to play Captain Marvel.

I still think Tom Welling could surprise people. Looks-wise he has matured a lot since leaving Smallville, but still has a very boyish grin and likeability which I think would work for the character. Plus, 6"3 and well capable of packing on muscle.

The only problem with Welling is his voice is not commanding at all. Even when he tried to be more mature towards the almost Superman stage, he just didn't have that heroic tone.

Personally I thought the whole movie sucked. Even Depp wasn't great. The film was ill conceived from the beginning. I don't think we would need an academy award winning performance from whoever is cast as Shazam. Hammer would be serviceable IMO.

I also like Joe Mang for the role...but I would rather see him as a possible candidate for Hawkman or as a villain.

I see much potential in Hammer as an actor. It's just some bias against him because of having some dud films. Even some of the most successful actors have been in some bad ones. Acting like Hammer is the worst actor of all time is just ridiculous. He even played a Billy before!

I'm still trying to figure out the Armie hate from some on here. It's odd to me. Lone Ranger was bad, so he should be ridiculed now The guy has a solid heroic look, good voice, and could easily deliver as a superhero imo.
