He rocks! There's just something about him. He doesn't have powers but, he's kinda' like Bruce wayne/James Bond, and a whole lot more.

His suit just rocks. When I think Marvel I think of Iron Man's red and yellow suit. It's just one of the best costumes ever!

Especially the first one, the one from the 70's thru 80's and the one today is okay.

I've been a huge fan of Iron Man since I was 9 years old, to me, its the fact that here's a guy with no superpowers, just a high tech suit of armor to keep himself alive, fighting super villians and saving the world, to me that's what a superhero is, a normal guy with his own demons doing extraordinary things.

At least until he supports superhero registration

Its a story, one of many Iron Man has been involved with over the last 40 years, Iron Man still has his loyal following of fans, who will be there long after Civil War is forgotten.

Yeah, we'll all be around next summer ;) (for the next 'epic Marvel cross-over event').

To me, the appeal of Iron Man is the dramatic irony; incredibly vulnerable man and invincible superhero. Tony is not a knowing, self-aware hero like James Bond; he's a slightly lost, slightly naive man, yet a genius of mechanics and business. The way Stan Lee wrote Shellhead, he was rarely in control of situations and often barely managed to win the day by the skin of his teeth. He doesn't make jokes like Spidey, he panics and grits his teeth as he avoids death by mere inches.

The idea of this billionaire, sweating in a state-of-the-art armour suit, desperately trying to fix it whilst being approached by numerous dangers is just extremely appealing.

Iron Man is, IMO, one of the best superheroes on merit, not just because I like him (I like most of them). As a dramatic character, he's superb, and rightly deserves a major motion picture.
