Transformers What is the budget ?

Batman Begins cost 150M, it won't be anything less than 200M.

300M I remember heard that from one Bay's interview, but I could be wrong.

Naaa... I seriously doubt TF is gonna get such high budget... probably 150 mil for the movie
and 30 mil for marketing... so 180

min $150 million
max. $200 million

my gut feeling is that it will be around $175-180 million.

No way! AFAIK, Bay has consistently said the budget is about $150 Mil.

I heard a few months ago the budget would be in the 130 to 150million range. Considering Spielberg's reputation for properly utilizing money as a director and producer I believe the rumour is true. I still don't know how he made Jurasic Park with a budget of 63 million in 1993. It's budget was lower than most of the other action fims released that year.(Cliffhanger(70mil), and Last Action Hero(85mil)) I couldn't find the budget for Demolition Man anywhere.

That seems kind of low, even with no big name stars.

Yeah, but still.....i don't think they get paid THAT much.

Anyway, considering the Transformers don't appear too much (at least not in the leaked script) 150 mil sounds about right.

This link has it 140 ish

But that's not to say they won't come closer to 200 with production overruns...and the Spielberg "friend" discount from george lucas (ILM) doesn't hurt.

And the don murphy post is from 2003...so it could of gotten higher by now

That post was made on 6/29/06. What you read was Don Murphy's register date of Jun 2003. If the budget was projected to be 140million 6 months ago I doubt that it changed much since now. Bay said he spent 300,000 dollars less than the projected budget so I think it's say to believe the movie will end up in my projected range of 130 to 150million.

Like I said... movie budget... 150 mil... and 30 mil for marketing.

Good God, when did a $150 million production budget become low? For Michael Bay it's probably average.

yeah seriously....

i still dont know where the money went for SR and sm2,3...

Well for Spider-man 2 it went into making a DAMN GOOD MOVIE and one of the best movies of the year (as well as one of the highest reviewed/rated). As well as a mega-blockbuster. Sony got what it paid for.

If you need to know where it's gone for Spider-man 3 . . . um . . . whatever:

Venom
Sandman
Harry-Goblin
Black Costume Spidey
Red and blue Spidey

Sony will get what they are paying for.

With all the overpriced pieces of crap we get onscreen, I'm not going to complain about Spider-man costing too much when the movies actually deliver.

Hear hear. Spidey 2 was brilliant. The $$$ went to attention to detail. The SFX were so good they border on the subtle (I think the same is true of Pirates Dead Man's Chest).

As for Supes... well I thought it was visually stunning... downright beautiful... but, I'm not sure if the humongoid production costs were that warranted.

Spielberg is the frugal gourmet chef of moviemaking. He makes such awesome movies for (what these days are considered) average budgets.

I wonder how much the CGI costs for each TF?

I think he gets perks from his bud at ILM that no other producer gets. :)

It's just like America to give financial PERKS to freakin' billionaires.

spielberg will make sure that hes friend lucas will give him good effects for very little money.
