What is the future of Ben Affleck as Batman in the DCEU?

JL is coming out in November, so its not like he or WB would announce he was leaving the part now. It would be a PR disaster.

Same. Especially seeing as how we're still several months out from JL hitting theaters. No way something like this would be confirmed until after that's been released.

If Ben's at Hall H for the DCEU next year and saying he's still Batman, I'll believe him then. But right now, there's too many signs suggesting otherwise for me to take him at his word.

Especially that announcement of a Flashpoint film.

Here's what I think. He'll be in JL and maybe The Batman, but I can't see him sticking around for much longer than that.

Because he's there in support of the JL movie, I don't think he'd mention any drawbacks of being Batman for a movie he's being paid to hype.

Of course, Jeremy Irons might leak some news :P

I'm thinking that if The Batman is received well and is a critical success; then Affleck will stay on for at least two more films and maybe a JL sequel.

Odds are he is probably out after The Batman though.

These denials are pretty common, and in this case, JL is still,four months away, and you be damn sure they're not gonna want to hurt that expensive investment by confirming that this is Affleck's last.

Heck, the official announcement may even not happen until late 2017 and early 2018 anyway.

I never said he was 100% gone either.

That's not the point. The point is that anything Affleck says right now, especially while promoting Justice League, isn't trustworthy at all. He would be saying the same thing no matter what the situation was in reality.

Its a role & character he has loved for a long time, he ain't about to simply just 'up sticks' guys.

He has acknowledged he took too much of the cake in believing he could write, direct and be The Batman, it takes a big gesture to put your hand up and say that, and take a back step.

In Reeves, they have a more than competant director who gets Ben's passion and will harness it constructively.

I have no worries about Affleck leaving in any way. He won't.

He will be Batman for the stand alone, a JL sequel and an extended cameo in both Nightwing & Batgirl films.

All he's doing is stating facts though.

Ben Affleck is obligated to assist in the promotion of Justice League as well as the DCEU. Not only that but I would like to think if he were leaving, he wouldn't announce it and ruin everyone's fun for Comic-con weekend.

When you also consider that he has a history of saying things that turned out not to be true, how can you deny that it's still a possibility?

I'm fine with him staying provided he actually stays for Matt Reeves' run and doesn't just bolt after the first Reeves film.

I'll take whatever Batfleck I can get. Everything about him is the Batman I want. He's the first Batman who makes the actor disappear for me.
