What Is Your Job?

I have a painfully low-paying job at a movie theater as a film supervisor/booth operator/projectionist or whatever you want to call it. The good thing besides the nonstop free movie watching, is that I only spend half of my time working. The rest of the time I'm just sittin' around, reading, watching TV, playing Pokemon, doing Word Search puzzles and stuff.

I asked for a promotion and a raise a few weeks ago. My manager said that he'd look into it. I've been working for AMC for 2 years and it's been a year since my last raise. Either they raise my pay or September will be my last month.

Software Sales & Management Trainee at Fry's Electronics.

Basically, I sell PC & Mac software, video games, books, CDs, and DVDs. I'm also in training to become a supervisor, which gives me some management privileges & responsibilities. I can open locked video game cabinets, order people around, and I can be left in charge of the software department if the other supervisors and my manager aren't around (which happens far too often).

I shoot chickens out of cannons at airplance windows to check them.

J/K

Dispatcher at the local police dept.

take calls send out Police, Fire, EMS. but I work third shift so its usually slow and I spend my time here on the hype.

Since I'm a Pressman,I print alot of your Sunday Newspaper flyers, Wal-Mart,Home Depot,Lowes,Dick Sporting Goods,Gamestop,Michaels, and a bunch of others...it's a dirty job,you can get paper dust, grease and ink all over your hands, arms, face and hair depending on what you have to do...I work nights so it's from 7:30pm to 7:30am every Sunday-Tuesday,every other Saturday. It'd be nice to have a nice retail clean job,but then again I wouldn't be making the money that I am.

I am a real estate fund manager.

Squeaky, do you get buckets of free balls and do you play golf?

I have a 19 month old and 6 month old, both girls. They usually take naps at the same time.
That's also why my post count has gone up so much. How many posts until I can be a Mod???????:ninja:

Fact: There are only 100,000 fathers who are stay at home.

You do have your hands full....taking care of one and the house keeps me busy.

Post count number doesn't determine if someone should be a mod....it's how you make your posts, count.

If that was how mod status was determined, we'd already be in Animal Farm territory.

Yeah I don't think that's ALWAYS the case. :o

Really? So, you think the guy who only posts "TEH PUFFY" or "When was the last time you ate a booger?".....should be considered before someone who posts non flaming intelligent conversations and who helps people out with problems?

I was agreeing with you in that stance.

It doesn't sound like it....maybe I'm just not getting it.

I meant that if going by post count equated to mod status, we'd be in anarchy. Come on man, get with it. :o

Ah....now I see. I thought you were making the Animal Farm reference to my last part of the sentence "it's how you make your posts, count" as opposed to your referencing the first part of the sentence.

Good for you. I tried the whole stay at home dad thing for a year( off work for medical reasons) but it caused too much havock between my wife and I to the point we separated for 4 months. I am much happier now working but I do miss my time alone with my son everyday. He does too, he always asks if he can come to work with me or if I can stay home with him.

I would do it again but only if we have the money saved to do so or if my wife ever gets her Psych degree and makes big bucks. But even then i may have to work a few days a week just to get out of the house.

My boy tried to get hired at Dunham's, before we went to Target. They kept saying they'd have him come in for interviews but never did. :csad: Really he just wanted discounts on paintball stuff, hah.

Right now, I work in an office putting things into the computer, shredding stuff, scanning, faxing, handing out the mail, running to the bank, etc.

It's a good job for 12 bucks an hour, though I have to leave mid-August and go back to my campus :(
