Not exactly. A lot of War movies have a training part and a war part. It's definitely not a genre switch.

I want to see a movie get made that completely switches genres halfway through.

The first half is a story about this family and their drama, kinda like Life as a House or American Beauty. You get all into their lives and their stories and hope they figure things out and love each other again.

Then out of nowhere a serial killer who has been living inside the house for a few days, snatches the daughter, rapes her, and ties her up. He stalks the rest of the family and takes them all hostage. The movie turns into a Funny Games type mental torture film ending with the entire family murdered.

That sounds pretty interesting. I like how you develop the characters abit more before you jump into the meat of the film.

Anyways, if they ever made a Destroy All Humans! movie, I think that the voice of Crypto-137 should be protrayed by Jack Nicholson. I think that would turn out to be pure gold.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of those space flicks and I really wish the latest Star Wars trilogy wasn't so full of itself because I loved the original trilogy because they were original and fresh. I never really liked Star Trek but I did like one of the Star Trek films called The Wrath of Khan; I thought that it was an enjoyable flick because you didn't need to be a hardcore Star Trek junkie to enjoy it.

How can you verify that when it doesn't even exist yet? I understand when it's something like Epic Movie or Meet the Spartans, but come on. Give me a break, this could be an enjoyable movie. I understand that's your opinion and I respect that but you should always give something a chance to succeed and don't just jump to conclusions.

Exactly what I'm thinking for Destroy All Humans!. I just want it to be a fun, entertaining film that people can sit through and watch and when they leave, they leave with that good feeling you get from films.

* An action movie that takes itself completely seriously. No insane explosions, gunfights or dancing martial arts. I want an action movie where the director walks on the set and instead of saying: "We need to add more scantily clad women, flying cars on fire and take everything to the EXTREME!" says: "Right, we're going to do this completely real." The action will be down-to-Earth, the fights will be brutal and messy instead of plainly choreographed and most importantly, NO SNAPPY COMEBACKS OR ****ING ONE-LINERS!

* A faithful horror movie (or movies) of Lovecraft's works. Dialogue would be verbatim, the settings, characters and everything would be completely and 100% faithful to the source material. Actually, this pretty much goes for every movie based on a book or any other literary medium.

* Parody movies that don't rely on toilet humor or multiple plots. Movies, where the jokes are a bit more complex. Think Airplane and Naked Gun instead of Scary Movie 4 and Epic Movie.

* After reading The Black Dossier and watching a movie called "The Man From Earth", I've developed a real interest and even craving for movies about characters' lives. Not normal people, but immortals. Basically, I want a movie that starts in the present, introduces us to the lead character, Immortal Joe Schmo and then he start narrating. The whole two hours would be about his travels and various periods of his life in Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, in China during the Ming/Qi dynasties, in medieval Europe etc. [If anyone can think of any books about this subject matter, PM me!]

Solaris is ok,the original was much better.
Id love to see 3001 get a film.
Also Heinlein's Stranger is long overdue..

I think Hollywood is affraid to make good Sci Fi sometimes.Especially if they arent action oriented.Its a damn shame.

a movie that aims to break all the normal movie cliches.. for instance you would see a guy using a condom in a sex scene and the sheet wouldn't be perfectly positioned to cover stuff up after and there would be a shoot out where guys get taken down by one bullet and the shoot out comes to an abrupt end because they run out of bullets.. but the movie would be one big cliche in itself i guess 'cos it would just be full of these cliche situations.

I love that game and it would make a pretty darn good movie. I could easily complain that Justice League and Ultimate Alliance are the only ones that should be made but this video game starts something completely fresh with this and they can make it something like Heroes(television series) or something.

I would love to see a film that was like a typical Tom Hanks Meg Ryan love story..but half way through a beast like Predator jumps out and kills someone then is after Tom and Meg for the rest of the film... but the studio wouldnt tell anyone that a beast will jump out half way through..it will be this massive movie secret and the movie wont look exciting at first but then when word of mouth gets around of a monster in this movie.everyone will go
