What Kinda Wrestling Thread You Runnin' Here? - Part 193

I think that's what makes this year even worse than when Batista won. Batista was coming back for a farewell tour. Reigns is supposed to be the man of tomorrow. You don't do this to him. You give him his KOTR moment like Stone Cold then build him up progressively. You don't rush him to the front with the crowd hating him. You invest in him by building him.

Here's a thought: DON'T PUSH THE GUY IF HE ISN'T READY. Instead of going to these desperate measures to get one guy over, why not get behind the guy who is already ov- oh, **** it. What do I know?

Nah, it's because they haven't reached up for them brass rings.:o:oldrazz:

It's kind of funny on how things have changed so much from last year's RR.

If I'm not mistaken, people were actually cheering for Reigns when he was like in the final slot against Batista, because people were willing to take anyone else other than Batista in last year's rumble.

Now, look at how things have turned out for Reigns in this year's main event.

Actually, it's the opposite in that they didn't learn their lesson and very little changed at all. You just substitute Reigns into Batista's position really, and you have almost the same problems fans had last year.

get behind the guy who's already over??

nah.......that's too logical for the WWE. :o

Out of the three finalists, Reigns was the lesser of three evils.

It was booked that way purposely.

Imagine if they had Reigns eliminate Bryan, Ziggler, or Ambrose.

The boos wouldve been even more insane.

So if you're not Vince's guy, you don't connect with the crowd. If you are Vince's guy and the crowd boos you, then you're spun as being partisan a la Cena.

Add me to the camp that genuinely feels bad for Reigns as well. I also feel bad for Show and Kane put out there at the brunt of it eliminating guys like Ambrose and Ziggler. Them being put in that position hurts their legacies. A lot of workers got unfairly s**t on by Vince. No wonder backstage morale is always reported as sucky.

In a twist, this wasn't a Vince decision.

Vince was reluctant to go forward with Reigns winning the Rumble. Meanwhile, Good 'Ole Hunter was gung-ho about pushing Reigns.

Vince wanted The Rock. That would be worse. Trips probably had to talk him into this compromise.

Reigns will be known as the guy who was shoved down the fan's throats. Belee dat!

Well on a stranger note, if Reigns does win the title at this year's Mania event, he'll be the first wrestler to have won his first world title at Mania, after having won the Rumble Match, in like 10 years.

But it is sad on how we don't get the usual/classic build up to world champions anymore, especially in the manner that you just mentioned (KOTR victories, mid-card title reigns, positive crowd buildups)

That is shocking. Jeez, I wonder now on what this company would be like if Shane was the one that was running it instead.

Stop with the "Belee dat!" stuff.

Reigns has never once said "Belee dat!". It was just in a cartoon once.

The Rock wasn't going to be in the rumble. He will be shooting a movie very soon, although I don't know which one.

Haha I can't believe I paid a subscription to the Network tonight. First time I've paid for a WWE product in quite some time. I'm cancelling ASAP.

Damn it is just wild how out of touch WWE/Vince is.

Now I know what Punk meant when he said that they can never take Bryan's Wrestlemania moment away from him.

Nope they can't. And it was at Wrestlemania 30. He's etched in Mania legend now.

Vince Hunter isn't capable of thinking this intelligently.

This should be the list provided to every person that's thinking about wanting to work in the WWE someday as a future superstar whenever they visit job-fairs:

IF you want to succeed in the WWE, then here are the best ways:

1. Sleep with the Boss's Daughter
2. Kiss up to the higher bosses
3. Be genetically built like a freaking Terminator

Not essential are in-ring talents, charisma, or hard work.

Fun fact: if the Wrestlemania main event goes ahead as planned, it will be Reign's second ever singles match at a PPV. Believe That!

The Rock wasn't going to be in the rumble. He will be shooting a movie very soon, although I don't know which one.

That was the word months ago of what Vince wanted. It was never gone through with though.

I don't think anyone, here especially, hates Reigns, they just hate the position he's been put into. But unfortunately, the only way anyone can really voice their displeasure is to boo him at the shows like what happened. There's no real other way for fans to get their voices out there. Yes, there is social media, but how much do they listen to it? We get polls that are worded in such a way to skew results, and tweets and message boards are just dismissed as internet smarks. There's hardly any other way for fans to get what they want heard in a way that the execs will even listen to.

It's not like it matters. Cena has been the face for how many years despite getting cheered 25% of the time, mixed 50% of the time, and outright booed the last 25%. At least he had the merchandise and extracurriculars as an excuse.

Reigns? When he wins at Mania, unless Rollins cashes in, they do a double turn, and throw Heyman on him instead, this Rumble win is such a killer for him. And if that indeed happens and was the plan all along, why the f*** is it so convoluted?

You know, I'm not buying that, actually. It had to be Vince. Based on him writing Reigns' promos and the wacky booking. I look at Triple H's NXT, and it's apples and oranges to the main product.

Am I the only one hoping that Curtis Axel gets in the ring during the post show and is declared the winner?

lol...I was thinking the same thing. They should have him cut a promo tomorrow talking about how he was never eliminated.
