Sequels What Spidey 3 set-up! [spoilers]

The Hobgoblin is a must IMO...eventually. Yes, people will probably be tired of seeing them, but his story needs to be told. And NO...it cannot be Bernard the Butler. Have Jason Macendale (no Roderick Kingsley) kill the Butler after discovering the Osborn Mansion/Goblin Lair, etc., and become the Hobgoblin. But I would hold off on Hobby until about part 5 or 6.

The Lizard IS A MUST as well, but he has to be the main villain in SM4...
CAH

Gotta agree...

Hobgoblin would be perfect...but not with the gold mask. Go with an actual goblin mask and cloak, and put him on a glider for god's sake. Who wouldn't look forward to an authentic Goblin look? We haven't seen that yet.

I think a Ned Leeds/Betty Brant storyline would be perfect. Have MJ and Pete on a hiatus....with MJ off to Hollywood. Pete plays the field with Gwen and Betty.....or even Felicia Hardy.

Parker leaves the Bugle for an internship with Dr. Connors. Connors studies of the symbiote give him hope for growing an arm and we have the Lizard as an arch villain.

i've had this idea since i saw SM3:

since Jameson was screwed over by Brock, i think there's a little opening for Scorpion (or at least Mac Gargan) to be introduced into the franchise. JJ's obviously pissed about this, so he hires a two-bit freelance PI (Gargan) to track down Spidey and confirm Jameson's beliefs. along the way, Gargan becomes the Scorpion. couple this with Connors becoming The Lizard and -- if the story's done right -- you could make for a pretty good movie.

Pretty cool idea

If it looks like a Goblin, and smells like a Goblin, chances are: it's a Goblin.

What part of his costume resembled a goblin?

What part of James Franco be listed as the New Goblin/Harry Osborn in the credits don't you get?

To begin with, they gave him the title of New Goblin because they had to call him something. However, they didn't really wanna call him that. If you watch or listen to interviews with Raimi, Ziskin, etc they explain that. Secondly, Harry wasn't really a villain per say. Something James Franco has said a million times.

So if you bring in HobGoblin I don't think people are gonna be like, "not this again" since we have only had one true Goblin and that was Norman in the original. HOWEVER, I'm not saying Hobby should be in part 4. In fact, he shouldn't but it could work for Spidey 5 or 6.

Pretty cool idea

What part of his costume resembled a goblin?
Let's see, he wore a mask (although he insisted on keeping it off), he wore some kind of battlesuit, and he rode on a glider.

Hobgoblin would work, but give me Kingsley. And David Morse to boot.

1. Well, I don't care about seeing Captain Stacy, he'll show up with the police, but a team-up with Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy trying to cure Dr. Connors seems very possible. So that means more Gwen "Hot" Stacy.

2. Actually, for the fourth movie, I wouldn't wanna see another goblin anytime soon...either 4 or 5, I would wanna see Roderick Kingsley...and Hobgoblin should finally show up in the 6th movie though.

3. Would love to see Carnage...even if he did die, they did a great job with Venom...have a good actor for Kasady, and have a great scene showing Cletus Kasady about to blow up a building, preferrebly the same place that Connors works at and then the symbiote contacts Kasady while Spider-Man and the police comes in, Kasady gets shot, his blood plus the symbiote creates the creature known as Carnage...if done right, it'll look awesome, but only have Carnage get 20-30 minutes though since Venom only got 15...plus, Cletus Kasady should be young too, around 22-23, and hates the college for not letting him graduate...or some reason like that for wanting to destroy it.

4. Actually, he's been stepping too close in number 3...he needs to fully become Lizard...and he should be the main villain...and a side plot featuring Cletus Kasady...and after they (Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy) cure Dr. Connors, he then gets into a hostile situation with Kasady who holds the college hostage...that would be just a great story to tie up Carnage and Lizard.

5. I want them to at least get engaged in the sequel.

6. He does work at the Bugle, doesn't he?

7. Betty Brant only liked him because Peter was acting different...don't start another love triangle, lol...not until they bring Black Cat to the story.

Let's see, he wore a mask (although he insisted on keeping it off), he wore some kind of battlesuit, and he rode on a glider.

Did you not read Catman's post? He said "What part of his costume resembled a goblin?"

His mask did not resemble the Goblin in the slightest, and if wearing a mask makes you a Goblin then does that make Batman the Black Goblin?

Battlesuit...again, many villains wear battlesuit.

Glider? More like a green Back To The Future hover board.

I agree with Catman, Harry was not a Goblin in the slightest.

But, still, I think we can all agree that we can wait for another goblin.

Harry might not have had a Goblin costume, but he was a Goblin in all other aspects, which is why it makes sense, IMO, to call him 'New Goblin' for marketing and credit purposes.

Regarding villains, the Lizard is all but a given at this point, and I'd also like to see Raimi (or whoever replaces him if he decides not to continue with the franchise) finds a way to use the Vulture, since it'd be cool to see the character realized on-screen. And, before anyone says anything, no, his story doesn't necessarily require that he be an old man.

Glider? More like a green Back To The Future hover board.

Funny you should mention that. When the movie was over thats one of the first things my friends and I talked about. lol.

Does anybody think Sandman should come back? Personally, I could've used a bit more of him in SM3...

I think once the 4th movie has passed by the time the 5th movie come people will forget all about the Green Goblins and then we can get Bada$$ Roderick Kingsley. Or I don't mind waiting for the 6th movie. But I think the majority of people won't mind especially if there is a cool story to accompany him. And the appearance of Hobby himself should be straight. Wearing that mask with the mysterious cloak. I always liked Hobby.

If I may offer my 2 cents...

*-Lizard *hopefully* is a given, Dr. Connors has been in all 3 films now right?

*- I'd Like to see Black Cat make her appearance now. This may be a bit far fetched...possibly. Maybe have Peters neighbor play her. The Russian girl from next door. In my opinion they should do something with that. I'm feeling Kirsten will not want to do a next movie, but Tobey and Raimi will. They can show a storyline where Pete and MJ are still friends..but a bit distant. And Black Cat takes over the love interest role. Then after Kirsten Dunst realizes how much money she let slip through her fingers...she comes back .
"Just an idea"

*- If that idea works, maybe they introduce Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin played by Michael Clark Duncan.

Just some thoughts.:cwink:

I would like to see Brock come back. The way they killed him off was very ambiguous. The bomb goes off...big cloud of smoke... and then nothing but a small bit of the symbiote flailing about. I can see them bake up some reason he survived. He could also reappear to give more backstory behind the symbiote. Gwen could also give more insite into Eddie, they never gave a reason why he was so desperate for the job in that scene at the Bugle where Peter exposes him.
If not then go with the Lizard and keep it simple.

Only a few villains could still hold a movie.

Kraven
Scorpion
Hobgoblin
Return of Venom (totally taking apart the character, but the part about his father could be interesting)

NO CARNAGE!

Using the stuff we were left with in Spidey3, I probably wouldn't go for any more deaths. Well, heroic deaths that is.

Spidey4 - Kraven, and the Lizard. We'll have Curt Connors try out a formula from another scientist at the university, claiming regrowth of limbs. It goes haywire, and out of control. Leaving Connors in a comatose state. Meanwhile, Kraven the Hunter is the new famed TV show around. He isn't arrogant and stupid though, as portrayed in the Ult.Universe. He's actually a trained killer. Connors turns into the Lizard, and even creates a 'family' of Lizards in the sewers...much like the TAS. Dunno if this happened in the comics, but anyways...Kraven broadcasts a major event, on the capture and death of the Lizard, due to his problems that's being caused.

Spidey goes against Kraven, trying to stop him from killing Connors. Some fight ensues, and Connors walks away free. Wrecking Kraven's fame, he loses it and brutally fights Spidey...before shooting himself, much like Kraven's Last Hunt.

Obviously, we build up on Spidey's relationship with MJ once more.
Perhaps add Electro, or Rhino as a villain...which isn't important, yet is still featured.

Making way for Spidey5, where MJ goes off some place for her acting career, only for Spidey to be distracted by the new BC.

I've never been a big fan of Kraven, but I admit the Lizard/Kraven plot idea that people are talking about does have me interested. I would only throw in the Black Cat as well to add more conflict between Peter & MJ.

The more I think about it, the more I feel that Kraven wouldn't transition well on the big screen. I used to be a supporter, but I feel now, that'd he'd just come off cheesy and too Saturday morning cartoony.

And the more I think about it, the more I'd like to see a kickass Carnage...who I was completely against initially.

It's like I've completely switched off.

Does anyone have a picture of this gold mask? I only remember a silver one from the beginning, that looked just like Norman's mask, when Harry was taking the formula, but maybe that's the one you're talking about and I'm remembering it differently...
