What superpowers would "fit" Batman?

batman-aaargh.jpg

Looks pretty f**king menacing to me.
wow, i sit corrected

Batman superpowers: Flight, the ability to go invisible in the shadows and darkness like Nightcrawler, and Superstrength.

As someone said, Daredevil is what Batman should be if your going by name really, Bats being blind use sonic waves to know were they are going, im sure you know all of this.

But yeah, Batman with powers isnt a good idea.

Superhuman agility, senses, endurance, intelligence, memory, etc. He's superior to most people in these anyway, so these to a superhuman degree would work. New different powers like control of darkness or SHAPE SHIFTIN!!1! or something wouldn't really fit I think because he doesn't really need them. Increased physical abilities are something he tries for, at one point he started taking drugs to increase his strength.

I think the tirelessness November Rain suggested works too well, he sleeps like 2 hours a day as it is.

Insomnia is so perfect for Batman.

Earlier I said natural nightvision and darkness control because they're talents he already has. Just shift the mechanical and methodological to biology, and it limits the change to Batman true power: his dedication.

i think if batman had superpowers they would be invisibility or camoflauge and flying and maybe awesome reflexes

hey all,

i know that Batman's lack of superpowers is what makes him more interesting.

But, IF Batman did have superpowers, what type would he have? IOW, what superpowers would "fit" Batman's theme and character.

Since he's a mysterious, shadowy creature of the night, I would think some kind of psychic / psionic power would fit, kind of like Raven from Teen Titans or The Shadow.

Or, maybe some kind of "shadow manipulation" power, like X-men's Psylocke....

any ideas??

---------

Let's try this as a kind of re-write of Batman's origin to incorporate super powers:
-----------
Ideas...I've included an introduction, a background and the origin of batman. It puts together Batman+Daredevil+Wolverine
Batman having all his abilities + wolverine's latent mutant abilities (super-healing)+ daredevil's powers [including a variation :: super sight + radar-vision when BAT's closes his eyes or when attacking on his blindspots). The level of his fitness, skills, powers will be tuned to these superpowers (whose-ever highest). Personally I feel that daredevil has the most powerful level of sensory powers. So the level of all of Batman's powers, fitness and skills will be up to that level.

Now his Background:
Bruce Wayne is born a seemingly normal child. However, unknown to anybody 2 incidences happened that caused him to be born a mutant.

1st: when in his mother's womb...the wayne family would be travelling a lot, partly to settle the influence of wayne foundation worldwide, disputes etc... The rapid variety of travel, difference in physical conditions of the places.

2nd : the open tension between Thomas Wayne and his disputants resulting in a potentially near-death experience in being sabotaged & stranded in bad weather and unforseen bad circumstances (discovery channel's 'I shouldn't be alive' style) for a few weeks. [Exactly how the wealthy Wayne could be stranded in a place for a few weeks is a not so impossible story for another time.] But, the stress on the to-be parents, caused the unborn child, as a survival mechanism, to adapt uniquely to his survival needs, begins to be 'evolving' latent mutant abilities & a natural response to attempt to survive the unstable and harsher environments (like shaolin monks train to do).

However, these latent skills are kept in check and he grows up a normal boy.
(Btw, Thomas Wayne resolved the conflicts he set out to resolve during that period.)
The rest of the story is pretty much like Batman begins:
- Thomas tells Bruce about the wayne fortune, bad people laundering money, him being a wealthy doctor to protect people.
- Bruce falling into the Bat Cavern and fearing the Bats.
* Interestingly his healing factor sparodically manifests itself whenever he has emotionally intense dreams and/or is terrified. ==> His dad realises this wierd symptom of any wounds or scratches or scars etc...of his body healing whenever Bruce was having a nightmare. Otherwise he's a normal guy.

Next: The fateful night...
Synopsis:: Bruce Parents are mugged, Bruce superpowers manifest...
