The thing with Phase 2 is that it doesn't feel like a phase as 1, where it was the origin story of the Avengers. Phase 2 was a lot of movies, maybe individually better movies overall, but without that cohesive value.
1. GotG Super duper awesome
2. Winter Soldier, great, great, I love it
3. Iron Man 3 I liked a lot, not feeling the hate at all
4. TDW and AoU tied, not really bad, Thor2 was ok, should have been bolder, AoU was bolder, but had narrative issues.
I expect Ant-Man to be on par with IM3, maybe a little below.
This is really close to me between TWS and GOTG. I enjoyed both immensely and they both added something different to the MCU. I lean a little more towards TWS. It was a great political thriller that just had me on the edge. And all the villains were great.
After having seen Age of Ultron, I am picking that film, and by a big margin. Although both it and Guardians are in my top 10 films of all time, AoU was just so freaking good.
Edit: Of course Ant-Man isn't out yet so things could change.
Why does the Avengers, Infinity Wars parts 1 and 2, have a Star Wars vibe to it? Are they planning on meshing the Star Wars and Marvel universes together in the future or something?
Well, anyways,
CA, TWS (easily number one on my list. It's probably my favorite MCU film to date.)
GOTG
(too bad Hulk wasn't blasted out into space like it was rumored, and he could have met these guys!)
Thor TDW (Loki made that movie for me, he is such a fantastic character. Whenever he's on screen, he lights it up)
AOU (I had my beefs, but Cap's in it, and anything that has Cap in it is alright for me, despite many of it's shortcomings)
IM3 (I liked this movie when it first came out, and seen it a few more times when I had it on BluRay, but now, I just find the movie incredibly boring and uninteresting. I just think I am now just tired of Tony Stark. I really, really hope Steve ***** smacks his ass real good in Civil War. It's strange, Wolverine is in the same bind as Tony Stark, but I love movie version Wolverine. Maybe it's because he at least is seriously flawed and does not always win the fights, and screws up alot. He has a humility about him thats adoring, unlike Tony's just plain snarkish attitude who never seems to learn or get grievance from his mistakes.
I know TWS is going to win this poll, but I still prefer Guardians of the Galaxy. It is just so much fun and it never gets old for me, no matter how many times I watch it.
Age of Ultron. Easily. Followed by:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Iron Man 3
Guardians of the Galaxy
Thor: The Dark World
I am still wrapping my head around all these grievances with the AoU, valid or fabricated. A lot seem of them seem to be the later. To me, it was the perfect culmination of everything we've seen so far.
I also disagree that Phase 2 was somehow less cohesive than Phase 1. Those movies were hardly actually connected at all.
Excited to see where Ant-Man will end up, the second trailer was very cool. After seeing all the Avengers again we get to be introduced to new face, the first of many to come! Exciting times.
I have like, 0 interest in Antman. None whatsoever. The trailer didn't intrigue me in the slightest. I'll probably check it out when it comes on Netflix, but, I think I am going to skip this one in the theaters.

I feel that these phases are more connected thematically than anything else (plot, character, etc), but that requires people to make inferences. People tend to miss things that are implicit, and only focus on the explicit.

Agreed on Stark, after AOU I am really sick of the character and Marvels pandering towards him. He has taken on Thor and Hulk and not lost to either, even beating the latter, it's a joke.
Tony Stark fought the Hulk inside a suit designed to defeat the Hulk, created with input from the man who actually turns into Hulk. Iron Man is a central figure in the MCU, undoubtedly the most prominent, for better or worse. But that's a long way from Marvel pandering towards him.

Agreed. The only real thread connecting the first set of films was that we knew they were building to Avengers. But each really stands on its own. I think we could claim the theme of Phase 2 is consequence.
Captain America TWS by far. Best story, Cap and BW at their best, the best fight scenes from the list and decent villains in WS and Pierce. Most heart and energy out of all of the films. For me its the best of all of the MCU films anyway.
Guardians was pretty fun and nice surprise too, an admirable second.
Daredevil might be the best thing overall in Phase 2 though
For me it's between Thor 2 (Yeah, Maleketh was nothing special, but I still don't get the disdain for that film) and AOU. I'll probably wait to see AOU again before voting, but I'm leaning towards it as of now.
I may be in the minority, but I vastly preferred Phase 1. I gave them all 5 stars with the exception of IM 2 getting a 4. Even grading on the curve, I can't honestly give any of Phase 2 more than a 4.5.
