Thanx, yeah I think it can make even more in overseas :)

But if the opening is very huge ($70-80m), then it will make $250m.

it wont beat Titanic, so, not really

Of course it won't, but it can make $90m opening weekend or $500m in worldwide.

But I doubt. I think it will make $24m opening day and $65m opening weekend.

really?... Hulk made that much and people werent even looking forward to that. I think BB2 will be like DMC, it will make alot but obviously not as much cause of the darker tone but still, i think it'll be the first by alot. The fanboys alone will go to see this like a million times in the frist week and be like "OMG!!!1!!"

Well, you can be right

But BB made $205m with $48 opening, so it need just $60-70m to get $240-250m.

it wont have the same "legs" this time i think, it'll open big and hold on well (like drop 50% then stay in the 40's for the rest of the time).

So you think that if movie makes huge opening, it won't have legs?

BB2 can make $80m opening and get to $260m easly.

But I think it will make just good opening and then there will be lower drop next weeks.

i'm not saying it wont, i'm saying it wont have the great legs it had before, if a movie opens big, the second weekend drop will be bigger

oh... ok.

I will agree with you about having not that great legs, which BB had.

Intersting, when will Disney release Narnia 2? In what month?

Will they use WB strategy and put Narnia 2 in May or in July?

I think they will release it on July 11th.

What film will be the DOMESTIC box office leader in 2008?

Of course assuming ALL the above films make it.

I think Indy will beat out Avatar. Yeah James Cameron is big and the whole digital 3d thing is great but Indy wins it hands down. Narnia and Avatar will fight it out for #2. Wolverine IMO easily beats out Batman begins clearly X3 showed just how popular the franchise is and the Wolverine script is just awesome from what I've read at Latino Review. Remember Wolverine has been in scripting stages since before X3. It's not a rush job by any means. Iron Man is an unknown and should do solid business to warrant a sequel. Favreau just rocks, and while Die Hard films are always fun and it should do great...I don't see it competing above any of the rest on the list.

Here's how I see it:

1) Indiana Jones - 300 million +
2) Avatar - 275+ million
3) Narnia 2 - 275 million
4) Wolverine - 250 million
5) Batman Begins - 230-240 million
6) Jurassic Park 4 - 200 million
7) Iron Man - 175-200 million
8) Die Hard 4.0 -150 million

If there are films I forgot...tell me.

If Hulk 2 get's added to this list and Marvel does it right (they're talking like they know what to do) then it'll jump up to #4 in my book. Hulk has so much appeal but was done wrong to maximize the box office. They get it right and throw in abomination...watch out! I'm pretty sure Hulk is in for a 2009 release though so I won't add it yet.

You haven't put the new Harry Potter in your list? That's certain to make more than $150, by quite a good margin I should think.

Indiana Jones will do well, and I should think the second Narnia too.

Wolverine at $250? I don't think so. He might be the most popular of the X-Men, but I don't think he can compete against an ensemble movie, where everyone has a favourite character, even if this favourite character doesn't get all that much screen time.

I voted for Iron Man. If they make the right choices and promote it well, I think it can beat all those movies

I think Batman:The Dark Knight will easily win.

Im most looking forward to the Wolfman!

I still think it will come out around xmas time, there's no way a Narnia film can handle all of the summer movies.

Nice thoughts.

Anyway, Harry Potter will rule 2008 and TDK (if there is no Indy 4 or Narnia 2) will rule summer 2008.

WB will have a good timem

Were pretty close then... I have TDK taking the number one spot behind HP. Should be a close battle between both of them.

Well, I heard some rumours, which say that WB cant choose right release date for TDK - May 16th or June 18th.

Wolverine DOMESTICLY
NARNIA WORLD WIDE

There is no way Wolverine will be the #1 domestic film. Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian, the Dark Knight, Indiana Jones 4, and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will rape it.

The more I think about the more I think the "been there done that" effect is gonna hurt The Dark Knight. I'm 20 and Nicholson's performance is still fresh in my mind. Sequels show the true strength of a franchise so the Bats still has a lot to prove in my eyes.

With Jackman's slate i don't think we will see Wolverine in 2008
