The Ultimate universe dealt with it pretty quickly I think, making that zombie universe seem like a complete joke.

I'd like to see it happen, because a lot of stuff in Marvel Zombies could be addressed. Like, how did Luke Cage get infected? How could Hulk get infected when he's ammune to all disease and with his incredible healing factor (same goes for Wolverine.) The answer, IMO is, they couldn't!

What could the zombies have possible done to the REAL Galactus, who can't be "eaten" (dumbest part of Marvel Zombies by FAR), or the Surfer.

I kind of hope Marvel addresses this in some way, because in my fanboyish opinion, Marvel Zombies made the Marvel universe in general (asside from Ultimate) look really weak.

Hell if it were DC I think the Justice Leage could have taken care of the virus in a couple of hours.

Maybe people would turn into zombies?

it would be just like the zombie universe?

I am not a Medical Major, but I believed that Luke Cage is still vulnerable to viral infections despite his unbreakable skins. The virus can enter through his mouth or nose or eyes.

A virus works by destorying a cell and using that dead cell to produce more viruses. I can therefore assume that the virus quicky destory one of Hulk's cell and use that cell to dublicate themselves. Also, by destorying one of Hulk's cell, the virus evolved.

I really doubt that gigantic floating meatbag is really that invisible. Once the zombie virus entered Galactus's blood stream, Galactus is pretty much screwed.

Same goes for SS.

How? (Great, I now sound like my stupid Political Science TA.)

But the Silver Surfer and Galactus don't have bloodstreams. They're energy beings with physical forms that serve no purpose other than for the benefit of their own emotional comfort and that of those around them.

Yeah i thought that was the whoel point of marvel zombies. To show what would happen if a zombie virus infected the Marvel Universe. Kind of a retorical thread isn't it.

I'm going to go out on a limb here but I'm going with suspension of belief. Hulk and Silver Surefer are ok to believe in, Zombies are ok to believe in them, Hulk and Silver Surfer becomign zombies isnt believeable? Ooook.

Why couldn't an infected Bruce Banner become an infected hulk? Wasn't it an infected sentry that began it all, surely he could have infected the hulk with a bite, hell he was probably his first victim. I found the story to be somewhat believable (as far as comic believabilty goes) and didn't have a problem with an infected hulk or him taking down silver surfer.

Yeah, exactly. I can't believe you guys really think a zombie virus would take out the entire 616, after overcoming stuff like the Infinity Gauntlet!

I love Marvel Zombies, but it took a lot of liberties. Many heroes simply would not have been infected.

Galactus is a physical entity who simply takes on a physical appearance. The same with the Surfer. Vison is an android. I guess you can get contrived and say "well the zombie virus took over Hulk's super virus-destroying gamma blood." (yeah makes sense), bur for Galactus, Surfer, Vision, among others, it's impossible to be eaten let alone infected.

The Ultimate verse got rid of the zombie virus in what, a few hours (granted it was after they had it contained for a while). The 616 should have no problem with it.

If Marvel Zombies is what Marvel feels really would happen with a zombie virus hitting the 616, I might very well switch over to DC where they respect their characters.

Dr Strange would just wiggle his ears and make it all go away.

This is a little off-topic (in my own topic I know), but I just realized it's not at all impossible for the Zombie-verse to be "saved" in a way. Tchalla grabs the Infinity Gauntlet and reverses everything. Maybe I'm being a little too optimistic in a cynical world with cynical people buying all the comics, but I'd actually like an ending like that to the future sequel (after the prequel).

But maybe I should elaborate on the purporse of this thread . . Marvel Zombies was a fun story not to be taken seriously where they took lots of liberties. It's a safe bet that had the zombie Sentry actually landed in the 616, things would have been a lot different (at least in my opinion). I'm just seeing what everyone else thinks is one of the millions of possible scenarios that could realistically take place.

Just in terms of business alone, the 616 would NEVER reach even 10% of the destruction of Marvel Zombies. So, what 'would' happen?

I'm going to go out on a limb here but I'm going with suspension of belief. Hulk and Silver Surefer are ok to believe in, Zombies are ok to believe in them, Hulk and Silver Surfer becomign zombies isnt believeable? Ooook.

It's called consistancy. By your logic it would be ok for Lex Luthor to suddenly sprout dragon-wings and start breathing fire in a canon Superman comic book. "Soooo wait an alein coming to earth with superpowers is ok to believe in but lex luthor as a dragon isn't? oooooook"

That seems kind of gimicky. And I don't think it's "cynical" to have a comic that doesn't have a happy ending in any classic sense.

What would happen if the Zombie virus got to the 616?

Fans of The Walking Dead would come to these boards to mock Marvel on their "rip-off idea" for no apparent reason at all, and then Marvel would have to buy the rights to Superboy Prime to punch the timestream at the end of some bloated "life-changing" 7-part event to retcon everything back to normal.

Eh. Galactus was the only part that was weird. Galactus has no meat parts. He's just...a sun I believe?

Either way, if it got to the 616, chances are a few would change, and the heros would figure out a solution.

Since we're complaining about Marvel Zombies, I think Magneto would have survived much longer.

But to be honest, I don't care. It did get a little too Sci-Fi at the end with Galactus and the planet hopping, but it was a well written and well crafted story.

Just wanna give the book two thumbs up. I'd give that for the covers alone. They're so gruesomely gorgeous.

I just can't wait for Ash to get his hands on them

THe covers were by far the best part. The Surfer was awesome.

yeah and that spin on the spider-man cover...very grim!!

Oh don't get me wrong, I loved Marvel Zombies too. But I do think they dropped the ball with the last couple of issues. After the Surfer shows up (issue 3 I believe?) and warns them about Galactus coming, I expected the next two issues to be the best freaking thing ever . . but it was just kind of dumb, IMO.

I think the Ultimate Fantastic Four issues involving the Marvel Zombies were better actually. Thing yelling "It's slobbering time!" Doom staring down the zombies: "Hmm, this should be a challenge." Awesome.

And I also can't wait to see Ash chainsaw through a bunch of them after a badass one-liner. Anyone else think Ash is gonna team up with Doctor Strange? He could be the "wise man" of the comic, like the dude in AOD.

The thing that bothers me is that it's an In Continuity Prequel to Marvel Zombies......So Ash can't kill or maim all that many guys cause we saw a lot of them them intact in MZ.

My assumption is that when the sentry was infected with the virus he probably took out new york first and infected all the heroes(who decimated the world). The fantastic four were as powerful as blondie.

So what has this thread taught us about fiction?

Hulk being Hulk, Spider-Man being Spider-Man, Zombies being Zombies = Believable.

Galactus and Silver Surfer turning into Zombies = outside the realm of believability.

Not really. Just outside the realm of what makes sense within the established boundaries of the mainstream marvel universe.

I have no problem with Marvel zombies because it CLEARLY took place in an alternate reality from 616. Within 616 there is strong reason to believe that a lot of the things that happened in it couldnt happen (without some extraordinary circumstances that, I feel, would require special explanation at least)

I think the whole point of the virus is that it was special enough to get past what made these heroes special to begin with. Hence guys like Wolverine and Hulk being infected.
