I think MSJ really missed an oppurtunity here by not showing Blackheart's demon form. It would have made Wes Bentley's performance more acceptable probably. To show that under his spoilt kid-like persona was a big, mean, mother****ing demon would have been an excellent surprise at the end of the movie. And if they would have shown that demon beating the absolute **** out of GR would have given BH A LOT more menace.

I mean imagine the scene were JB is trying to get BH into the shadows of the church and shooting him with a shotgun. What would have been more scary, Wes Bentley surrounded by black smoke walking towards him or a big **** off 7 foot black demon with no human features whatsoever walking toward him? See what i mean?

Also, i felt the whole, or most of San Verganza should have been decimated from BH throwing GR all over the place. With the other fights being so short (which i personally didnt mind) I felt BH should have been the one to give GR the ultimate ass-kicking.

I've been working on a final battle fan script, and let me just say that Blackheart is in demon form and he murders Roxanne.

I'll post it here when I'm done.

Friends, the purpose of the thread is really noble and interesting, but at the same time kind of sad.
It hurts me to say, but we doesn´t need to ask things like that,
MSJ has lots of time to improve the movie, to change things, to wrtite better scenes...all kind of stuff. And he didn´t.
The original date of release was august 04, 2006, everybody remembers.
Later pushed to feb, 16. Six months.
The only who works for real in these months was the sfx team, awesome.
Sad...
MSJ disappointed me.
He has time, money, loyal fans, BIG merchandise and good actors.
And miss the shot.
And can´t believe a real GR fan doesn´t want something darker and deeper for the next film. A better director. A better and younger actor, sorry Cage. Carpenters, apes and jellybeans...shame on you.
If i´m wrong, sorry. I must be crazy.
But i, as a long time loyal GR fan at the South of the planet, don´t want MSJ and Cage back for the sequel. Sorry, my opinion.
I´d rather not to think what would be the final fight scene of the first.
I better focuse my strenghts to wish for guys like Guillermo Del Toro and Josh Holloway take on GR2.
Anyway, once again, my opinion.
GR4EVR!!!

Q. What would I have done to improve the final fight....and the entire film?

A. Hire a really good director.

Seriously, Avi needs to get off the crack. He hired the man behind Taxi to do the Fantastic 4......

That's what I was going to say.

Seriously, Ghost Rider had a truly jaw-dropping lack of ambition. Man turns into flaming skull biker, throws his chain at a few demons, the end. Compare that to the awe-inspiring mayhem of the likes of Spider-Man 2/3, X3, or even Hellboy. For goodness' sake, Elektra had more imagination behind it than Ghost Rider, had better fight scenes as well.

Ghost Rider is a lame B-movie that no-one took seriously in the cast, the crew, or the audience.

all i want is for someone whos qaulified as a director and screen writer to make a GR movie sometime in the future. look at batman begins, it was only 8 years after batman & robin when they came out with BB. so in the next 8 years lets get a new GR movie thats actually good. i hope avi arad isnt in charge of producing marvel movies by then, god avi blows.

^I know what you mean, i have no faith in Avi after the dreadful X3 and the events leading up to it.

However can we keep on topic please guys.

That scene was so far beyond the opportunity for improvement, I don't really have any suggestions. Such is the case with the rest of the film, really. Just shoddy. I don't know what changes I would've made, but I do know it would have involved a lot of CGI.

Let me just say, that I did like the movie, but it had so much more potential. You know?

For me, longer more intense fight scenes. More damage. I wouldn't have minded GR flipping a car with one arm (like Ketch did in the comics) or having a real battle of titans at the end. I like that idea of the gigantic demon, complete with enormous wings, at the end. There has to be more of a sense of desperation and the chance of failing to make the victory sweeter, you know?

Exactly, totally agree with this, i didnt mind the fights with the hidden being quick, as it showed just how powerful GR is. This is why the BH fight should have been longer, more intense, to show that GR has met his match for once. Also, the world was at stake here, show a bit more desperation will you!

I'd have just liked a bigger, more intense, slam-bang fight:-

GR gets knocked through walls and blasted and sliced etc, but heroically and unstoppably refuses to stay down. After delivering the Penance Stare, he remorselessly beats the hell out of Blackheart, spilling black blood (like the brutal final scrap in Spider-Man). But, before he can deliver the killing blow, Mephisto shows up and snatches his son away, so he can punish him personally.

:yay:

Something like that would have been a huge improvement also, i just wanted something that would have constantly made me think the hero was going to loose, like the Blade vs Nomak final fight in Blade II.

I would have included some actual action in it.

For the ending battle? I would have included just alot more physical action. Punching, kicking, fire balls, demon...energy blasts, getting thrown through walls. Thats what all the fights needed.

^Yeah, especially the last fight though, it just wasnt desperate or panicky enough, if anything, it was far too relaxed.

The manner in which the fight ended made sense, with GR using the Penance Stare coz BH had the souls in him, but like most ppl here have said, it was too simple.

I guess have BH turn into his demon form permanently since GR blew him apart with the shotgun, then have a massive brawl until GR impales BH on his chain.

Yeah, i liked the way the fight ended, it was just the buildup, it was just, too relaxed considering the world was at stake. Would have LOVED GR to impale BH on his chain.
