Daredevil What you DIDNT like from Daredevil Season 1(spoilers abound)

It was undoubtedly pretty good but im sure some of you have nitpicks to voice

It ended. I wanted to see more of young Matt being trained by Stick. Seems like they rushed over that part. He was already during flips and round House kicks. Just a bit more of a time span acknowledgement would have been great there.

I mentioned it elsewhere, but the biggest one that comes to mind is Fisk's chatter about doing right by Hell's Kitchen. It was pure lip service and not much else.

-Not enough Stick

-There was not a single super power in a world filled with heroes. Yes, DD's Radar Sense technically counted but I don't even remember them showing the view of his radar sense, but not a single laser, flight, speed, invunerable, invisible, mind control, wall crawling, or super strong person in the got damn show not a single REAL super power.


And this is kind of a 50/50 thing but Ben Urich shouldn't have died, atleast not so soon when his character was getting really good for me. But I can see why they killed him.


Other than that I'm fine.

Agreed. Urich was probably the most convincing performance of the cast, and I don't say that lightly either; there were stellar performances from top to bottom throughout the whole season.

I would have liked to have seen him be the connective tissue for all of the solo series until Defenders.

Fisk/Vanessa romance took too much focus, don't get me wrong it was entertaining, but I wanted more ruthless Fisk.

These are all minor gripes, but here they are:

-Death of Urich

-Not enough Rosario Dawson

-Fisk/Vanessa romance

-Kingpin's childlike behavior in the final episodes

-Would've liked to see more of Stick training young Matt.
-Wish Urich would've survived. Although his death definitely made a huge impact on me.
-Kingpin lost a LITTLE bit of steam in the last few episodes, but he gained it back with that awesome speech in the armored car.
-The final DD costume could use a few tweaks to look better.

Episode 11 dragged and had generic storytelling IMO.

Could have developed Vanessa's feelings for Fisk more.

I still give it 9/10, and it's my favorite superhero adaptation ever.

Only minor quibbles I had with the series were I felt it could have been better with one less episode - pacing was an issue at times - and that Urich was probably killed a little early, but it worked so I'm cool with it.

1.No Supervillains.This is a goddamn Superhero show with no supervillains(except Fisk).

2.Fisk.Was not really a fan of Kingpin here.He was overtly emotional and sympathehic.Wesly came off more villainous than he did.

Smallville? Really? Him not wearing the suit until the last episode of the first season, and when he wore it, the camera never shied away from it is on par as Superman not wearing a costume for pretty an entire TV series that lasted 10 years and in the end never getting a real clear look at it?

The dialog comes off very stiff and sometimes overwrought with performances that did nothing to elevate it at first. Eventually it gels with the overall style choice, and as the stakes got bigger and more personal, there was definitely improvement. Foggy has to sound less like he is on a CBS sitcom though.

Rosario Dawson just kind of disappearing and not developing in any meaningful way.

End not quite as good as the start.

Overall though nothing of great significance however, it really was one of those things that lived up to the hype.

Also, while I like the final suit, I do think the design of the cowl still needs some work. But that's a reeeeaaaallly minor quibble. This show is fantastic.

Yes, I agree.
Except that "CW ending", I would say that Daredevil is the best thing MARVEL Studio has ever done.
And I'm not talking about Daredevil as a TV show. No, in my opinion MARVEL's Daredevil is a BIG movie cut in 13 episodes. Captain America The Winter Soldier used to be my favorite MARVEL Studio's movie. But that was before Daredevil came out with Steven DeKnight and his fabulous cast! Can't wait for the sequel, I mean, season 2!!!
The tone, the pace, the acting, the action choreography, the plot ... everything was excellent, and far more entertaining and intelligent than those childish CW shows, IMO. Keep up the good work!

But my only grip, and It's kinda sad, is that Daredevil ends with that kind of "CW episode ending". Cinematically, It feels very different from the rest ... It feels off, weird- It's not spectacular at all. They could have end way better than that. (It could have been EPIC ... But no, It's not. )
As for the suit, the only problem I may have is the design of the mask. I hope they'll update it in the future.
