Though I feel education on the subject of good health is necessary I can't help be think its a good move(especially for Elementary and Middle schools). It will cut down on the consumption of junk foods during the school day. On the other hand they need to start pressuring parents into worrying about thier childrens health.
Really though some of these extreme measure wouldn't take place if people started taking personal responsibility for themselves and thier children.
i wouldn't say it's a bad move it's a good move, but it's not the best move, especially if unaided with education.
eventually the kids will pick up their newer diets but without formulating a reason why then there's nothing to stop the trend returning once they are left to do their own thing when they are adult. (unless you think good habbits die hard and once they are stuck on a good diet, they are less likely to wanna adapt).
personally i feel the only way to truelly learn is by overy consumption.
host a fast food-a-thon where all kids get to scoff themselves till they are full, but then they have to carry on eating till they are sick, and completely overwhelmed by the food till it makes them comepletely ill.
now this will be the last time they eat that, and then whenever they wish to have it again, they'll remember the last time they had it and how bad they felt, and will probably rather stay clear of it since they have a clear bad association with it that they have shared with their peers (also peer pressure wouldn't allow them to go back to it since they will all remember how bad it was as well).
it may not ethically be the best way but heck, the immediate and long lasting results would be pretty damn imppressive.
