That's what I'm trying to figure out.

It's like people try to put way too much emphasis on either getting married or never getting married. Marriage is probably great and everything, but if its not for you, its not for you. Whatever. Why do people feel they have to push and nag? People kept doing that to my best friend because her and her bf had been together for like 7 years. She just didn't care about getting married one way or the other, what they had was fine. Of course, she finally did tie the knot last May and said it isn't different than before.

When I'm 50 I still want to bang exotic, 19-year old hotties.

I'm celibate,as most people on here know so.....um can't marry what ya don't have. Over a year now. *sigh* The flesh is getting weak. :cwink:

Pfft, that's nothing. I went 2 years between my previous boyfriend and my fiance. It was horrible and I was being way too picky. :csad:

Lol,I've gone 4 years before but I'm currently at my sexual peak. :csad:

I don't really see what the big deal is about marriage. The only thing it'll really change for us is our legal status.

And a lot of you are acting like marriage in itself is horrible and so are spouses in general, but you do realize you get to choose who you marry, right? You can't blame marriage for being the causes of infidelity, personality changes, lack of freedom, or whatever else. It depends on the person you marry and the person you want to be when you're married.

Marraige is about legal rights.

Next of kin. Inheritance. Housing. Custody of children. Company benefits. Tax credits. I wouldn't be entitled to any of that if I wasn't married.

Pretty much why we're doing it. Plus I like the idea of calling him my "husband."

Oh yeah. I love being able to buy something, and the shop assistant says 'for your girlfriend?' and I can say 'No, my wife.'

"Boyfriend" pales in comparison to "husband." It's like a way of letting everyone I know I love him. How long have you been married, btw?

Yeah, I wanna get married some day. Have plenty of kids, maybe 4 or 5. Preferably 4 boys and maybe a girl. Baby boys are so damn cute. :)

We got hitched on the 23rd of June last year, so a little over seven months. Great way to end a four year engagement. Now if only they'd stop telling me I was too young to me married...

If I marry I won't have biological kids for sure, If me and my wife for some reason feel the need to have a child we'll adopt.

Is it fun being newlyweds or overrated? And how old are you? I'm only 20, so I get that crap, too. :whatever:

Jesus, Gunny you really want 4 or 5 kids? You're a braver person than me. I want maybe 3...two boys and a girl...or just 2 boys. I don't know yet.

It didn't really seem any different, but we did all the couple stuff before we got married- trial run thing. Y'know, lived together, took a long holiday together, all that sort of thing. We only had a 1 days honeymoon and were back to work the week after, so it didn't feel all that different. If we didn't have to change the names on everything it wouldn't have been different at all to be honest.

I'm 18, I turned 18 two months before we got married. You'd be amazed how many guys ignore a wedding band on someone that looks younger than 25.

Yeah, we've done all that too, so I think the only real difference will be our names, rings, and how we refer to each other. That and I'll get hosed with grants and stuff for school.

Oh yeah, it doubled our study entitlement because the means-testing was no longer dependent on my parent's income. That was also well worth it.

The banks were the worst bit for us. One bank messed up our account 11 times before we got it all straightened out.

Well, my folks are divorced, my mom and stepdad make a lot but have a ton of bills and my dad doesn't make crap. But my fiance makes more than him, so I probably won't get crap. Now I'll be stuck with $8k a semester in student loans. Almost made us wait another year or two, but I can't wait to get married.

The worst bit of the say was trying to sign the register. My hands were shaking so much I almost fluffed it up. We only waited until I turned 18. We looked at it this way:

We could wait five years, and then break up, and then we'd have spent five years waiting to do something. Time spent waiting is time wasted. Or, we could go ahead and do it. We break up in five years, at least we tried instead of sitting there speculating.

watching my monkeys get older ... spending more time with my gorgeous wife ... travelling around the world and seeing the things I want to see ... and hopefully getting one story made into a comic or book :ghost:

Makes sense to me. And just because you're young doesn't mean it won't work out. I've known people to get married at 18 and have happy lives together and others who married at 30 and divorced within 10 years. It just depends on the people involved, not how old they are.

Hang in there sister. :woot:

Marriage is great, but I know that either single or married it was my attitude about life and my friends/relationships that gets/got me through.

Like Kaz says ... enjoy what you have, but enjoy the singleness for what it offers too ... :yay:

I got married at 23. Been married coming up on 13 years. Some years were easy and some were hard.

The key is to choose to be with your partner today. Don't worry about tomorrow.

I tell my wife each day that I choose her today, tomorrow and forever, but to her it is today that counts. :woot:
