Finished Starship Troopers a while ago. Liked it as much as the movie, if not more. The movie was good for being action-y and epic, but the novel I liked because of it's more thought provoking. I really didn't like how he kept switching to different squads and being with different people every chapter or so, but I guess (I've never really been in the army myself, so I'm just guessing) that that's more realistic.
Started on Catch-22. So far my favorite part is when Yossarian is trying to find out why Orr used to put crab apples in his cheeks and keeps getting extremely literal and/or answers that are right, but not what he's looking for

Summer Crossing by Truman Capote

One novella that Capote wrote in his early age and one he never intended for it to be published during his lifetime but alas. It's a good work nonetheless and it works as a taste of things to come for the foundation of his future works with his remarkable use of language and ability to evoke a world and its atmosphere. Worth if you are a fan of Capote.

A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby

Hornby's one of my favorite authors. He can write very diverse characters that all have distinct voices and can make heavy subject matter (this book centers around suicide) entertaining to read about without trivializing it.

I also recently read the booklet for his album with Ben Folds, Lonely Avenue, which contained four short stories. They weren't as good as his novels, but it was interesting to see him branch out into more fantastical concepts in some of the pieces.

i'm about a quarter of the way through The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. i'm really enjoying it so far

Herzog on Herzog. An essential read if you want to 'understand' Werner Herzog. Fascinating and thoroughly enjoyable.

Warhammer 40k: Age of Darkness (collection of short stories).

I can't get enough of the Horus Heresy.

I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell - Tucker Max

It's a great, funny read. And I think it can be applied to most guys.

Currently reading "An Ideal Husband" a play by Oscar Wilde...

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien

Confessor ~ Terry Goodkind

Terrific ending to a great series. The good guys have beautiful endings, just about all of which are touched upon, even having a few cameos from that hadn't been seen or touched up for several books, and the bad guys got what was coming to them. I loved it. Through out much of the series, I couldn't put these books down. I wish the show had continued to see how they interpreted them. I hope someone else tries doing them again as another tv series.

Ubik by Philip K Dick. The man was an insane genius. This was very, very crazy but not as perplexing as some of his other novels. That is, until the very last paragraph....:p Loved it.
