What's The Last Movie You Watched? VIII - Part 3

No, but my friend got a happy ending from one.

Jesus Christ.

When I first saw him/her I assumed he/she was a tranny. Then the scene did such a great job at disguising it since I was listening to what happened closely and when she said, "My balls" well... :lmao:

I agree with everything above. I would love to see Carrey play a darker role - especially since I ADORE his serious roles, and he could make an awesome bad guy (though I do like his campy riddler). The scenes with bruce's past, and music combined are fantastic, and O'Donnell made an awesome robin, a character I'm not too fond of in the comics as is.

He was definitely channeling Frank Gorshin's Riddler. Not a bad thing, but damn, so many things were a wasted opportunity. The quote in my sig though I love.

The Sting is such a great ****ing movie. I can't get enough of it. I grew up watching it with my Dad and still love it to this day.

I liked Minority Report, but loved Catch Me if You Can. Tom Hanks was great in that film, as well as DiCaprio, not to mention having Walken as his dad was a plus.

I loved Newman in it the most. My favorite scene is the train scene where he's playing cards with Shaw.

Two of my top five favorite actors in my favorite director's chase film. Can't beat it. Their scenes together are gold. Especially the plane scenes.

Prince of the City - 8/10

Being that this is an inspiration towards The Dark Knight Rises, I couldn't help but check it out. I can definitely see how Nolan is influenced by it. The themes in his Batman films and this have a lot in common. The question of how far you are willing to go to root out corruption. Where right and wrong rests on morality and the law. It's a very thought provoking subject. It's lengthy, but the length is justified. As there is alot to cover with the characters and process. Treat Williams gives a damn fine performance.

The Spy Who Loved Me - 8/10

Man, this is definitely one of the best Bond films. And my favorite of Moore's. I really liked him in this. Here he isn't winking at the camera. He has the right sense of humor that balances very well with his serious moments. And when they're serious, they're great. He's also a bit cold blooded which is surprising. Yet still manages to keep his sense of humor. Everything works just right where it doesn't becopme over the top. Although what kept this from getting a 9 was the fact the dragging ship finale fell back into the Bond formula and just rang too similar to the earlier films. The gadgets aren't used excessively. I don't mind the gadgets, just if it isn't overkill. The submarine car was pushing it though. But the gorgeous locations make up for pretty much all of my criticisms. The Egypt locations are spectacular. I also loved Sardinia. Just gorgeous photography. Barabra Bach is also an ideal Bond girl. Beautiful, smart and deadly. The direction was just all around very good. I loved some of the little twists on some scenes; some of them involving her.

So yeah, much better than I was expecting. I should go back and rewatch Live and Let Die.

I tried to watch this movie twice for heaven's sake, but it was bordering on unbearable. First I had to stop after half an hour, and the second time I could only get past the first hour. I don't know what went wrong here. Well...actually I do. But it's still baffling to me that a crime film directed by Sidney Lumet can suck so frightfully hard. First, Treat Williams. His performance is utterly laughable, just head-ache inducing really. The screenplay was poorly structured, very hard to follow and muddled. The camerawork was basically non-existent. It looked as if they had shot it in masterscene and chose to only use the wide-shot. it seemed freakishly amateurish to me. Same goes for the editing, sound-quality and the use of titles. It was like a bad TV show. I felt like watch Dog Day Afternoon man. This movie had zero life in it. I felt dead watching it.

I can understand that. It did get off to a slow start. And I did think it was originally a tv movie at first. Although I donn't think it would have hurt it if they had shortened it. I get what you mean when it's muddled. It's just goes along scene by scene. But I got pretty into it. When they started going in on his partners I understood why it was the length it was. I really liked Williams.

He was originally going to have a role in TDKR too. :awesome:

No, but my friend got a happy ending from one.

when in Thailand one must remember the color code:
if they are wearing white:born woman
if they are wearing red:Pre-Op
if they are wearing gold: Post-Op

I've been to Thailand so many times and this movie brought back many memories

April Fool's Day (1986)

The Hangover pt.2 2/5
- pretty disappointed, it didn't really bring anything new to the table

Star Trek:Undiscovered Country....one of my favorites of the original cast

9/10,One of JCVD/Dolph Lundgren&Roland Emmerich's best movies IMO!!

April Fool's Day (again)...

and Figs got me on a Bond kick......(I'm a Moore fan myself)......gonna start Octopussy in a few (my personal favorite, even with the elements many consider cheesy/campy, the film has a certain charm to it)......

Hangover 2 - 5/10

Outside of a few standout scenes, the comedy's mirthless and dead.

Cave of Forgotten Dreams - 9/10

Best use of 3D I've seen. The texture and depth of the cheap digital rigs are incredible. More impressive, though, is the mystery left behind in the caves, and Herzog's examination of human consciousness. The collected and preserved art are the first examples of abstract thought in human history. When the camera fixes on albino crocodiles in a museum, is the glass more of a mirror in this context? Great, great movie. As much as I love Herzog, I've never seen any of his documentaries. I'll have to fix that.

Undertow - 8.5/10

David Gordon Green's filtered Night of the Hunter headtrip. The boys' on-the-run peregrinations in the lost world of heartland America make for a cool, speculative trek through their own psyche. As much as I love Pineapple Express, I hope Green will come back to movies like this and George Washington, especially after the mess that was Your Highness. Couldn't even finish that ****.
