Kickboxer

Wow, I actually enjoyed this a little more than Bloodsport. Visually it doesn't really feel dated beyond Van Damme's campy 80's outfits. Thanks to the natural lighting this actually looks quite amazing on DVD. I can't imagine how well it would translate to Blu Ray.

I had a couple of issues, I don't think JC's girlfriend getting raped was necessary at all, if anything it took away from JC's victory because getting KOed doesn't exactly make up for being a rapist.

Tong Po ain't got nothing on Chong Li though.

Horrible Bosses - 8/10

With comedies that have ridiculous concepts, what it relies upon is its execution. If they pull it off, you just sit back and enjoy. As ridiculous as this concept is and what these characters do is completely immoral and could be put away much easier in real life, their experiences make it worthwhile and hilarious. The three leads play off eachother very well. And their bosses are also terrific. I'm glad I can see good comedies in theaters and not waste money.

If Jennifer Aniston was my boss and did what she did to Charlie Day, it wouldn't be sexual harassment. I would take her up on her first offer.

Cries and Whispers - 5/5

After my second viewing of this film I still stand by that's one of the finest and fully-realized works of Bergman's. It's haunting but also profoundly moving. The uses of silence and the uses of the color red throughout the film only adds to its ominous nature. It contains remarkable performances from the four leading ladies and the ending is still heartbreaking.

Punisher: War Zone - 8/10 Although the Jigsaw character is a bit over the top, he still looks cool. The Punisher in this movie is my favorite of the 3 movies, he wears the skull, he fights alot and he's a lot more brutal. I couldn't see anyone else except Ray Stevenson playing this from now on.

Horrible Bosses: 2.5/5

I thought this was stunningly average. Scattered laughs here and there, with huge deadspots throughout. Farrell's the most entertaining character, and he gets the short end of the stick. Pretty much everyone else is fine - if uninspired - except for Sudeikis, who's fairly weak.

I honestly laughed at this flick about as much as Hangover 2. I guess it's better, because it's not a hacky copy-job, but not by much. Bridesmaids blows this completely out of the water, and Bad Teacher - which is certainly inconsistent - at least takes some interesting chances and occasionally scores big. This film is just bland comedy filler; fine for killing 90 mins, but instantly forgettable.

I loved War Zone.

3.5/5

Good film with a great cast. Only reason it didn't get a 4 out of 5 is because of the ending. I don't want to ruin anything but lets just say I didn't care for the characters reason/motivation why.

Tomcats - 7.5/10 - For a raunchy comedy, it's actually pretty funny. I've always liked this movie, and the scene with the testicle is hilarious. If you have a bunch of buddies that are married with kids, you'll relate to this one.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon 7.5/10
