Although I think TDK is the better film, I like BB much more.

4/10

A lot better than the second one, but still not a very good movie in it's own right.

How was this?

Woody Harrelson and Robin Wright are terrific; everything else is so-so. Once it sets everything up, the movie kind of rolls on and then just stops. Other than what you can guess in the first twenty minutes, there isn't much of an arc--it just sort of checks off the fall-of-the-corrupt-cop bullet points.

Was a bit disappointed to be honest. It was not bad but it fell short of my expectations. The film started well by showing a realistic portrayal of what happens during the campaign, but halfway the focus of the story turns into a familiar territory and with that fizzled. Gosling did a fantastic performance and both Clooney and Seymour Hoffman did good and apart from the actual content which was average the directing and the cast was as well as I had expected, despite the all of the star-studded cast didn't have their moment to shine but that would've happened regardless. The end was tied up too neatly also though I do like the last scene. It's an alright movie still, I just wish it was more insightful and surprising than it was.

3/5

Captain America: The First Avenger

Listened to the commentary, kind of boring focusing on the technical stuff. But Joe Johnston convinced me he would make a fantastic Bobba Fett movie, he comes off far more knowledgeable about using effects than George Lucas, especially with controlling the eye line problem, blending it in with the real stuff and trying to keep it as practical as possible.

Subspecies 3 Bloodlust (1994) my score 6
Tales From The Crypt Demon Knight (1995) my score 8

A Long Ride From Hell (1968)

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)
