What's The Last Movie You Watched? XIII - Part 11

Terminator: Salvation. Interesting story. The best assassin is one who doesn't know he's an assassin. I couldn't help but chuckle when I saw Arnold's face on the T-800 that was attacking John Connor at the Skynet base.

The Social Network.

Everyone talks very fast in it.

I, Robot

The line of Spooner:

- You know, somehow, "I told you so" just doesn't quite say it.-

is one of my favorite movie quotes ever.

Die Hard - 9 or 10 out of 10

A fantastic screenplay and so well plotted I can see why it's called the greatest action film of all time. Though that goes to Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Die Hard 2 - 7/10

Fun in aspects and not bad by any means but it really adds nothing new to Die Hard. It doesn't feel unique or special. Three villains and neither of them can measure up to the one man that is Hans Gruber. And Carmine is never talking in an inside voice. It just doesn't leave much of an impression. It's just there.

Die Hard With a Vengeance - 9/10

A much better sequel. I love how McClane is at the bottom of the barrel and slightly more on edge. With a headache from a hangover, that plagues him, it's such a nice character touch. And Jackson is probably my favorite Die Hard character other than McClane. These two make gold together, in this case, providing a tense and often hilarious team up. Simon Gruber is a worthy bad guy too.

Yeah those two are my favorite Die Hards.

It was ok. Better than I expected but once again the 3D didn't impress me.

Kitsch was pretty good and so was the princess (who was hot) but I felt like the movie went on too long. It could have stood to be 20 minutes shorter. There are times when the pace REALLY slows down too much IMO.

The CGI was pretty damn impressive and the production design was cool. The aliens emoted well enough and the voice cast was very good. I never read the books but you can see where Avatar (among others obviously) borrowed a few bits from this. I also liked it more than Cowboys & Aliens (which wasn't terrible but this was more exciting) but they share some of the same pacing and writing problems.

Say what you want, I really enjoy this series.

Black Book/Zwartboek

Verhoeven's career is eerily similar to John Woo's. They started off kind of obscure in their home nations, until they graduated to bigger projects, making some classics, then they went to Hollywood, started strong and the fizzled out because studios killed their love for making films, then they went home and made an awesome war epic, reminding everyone how great they once where. I wonder what Pauly is up to nowadays?

Escape from New York

Snake Plissken is the man. This would make for an awesome sandbox video game like Fallout.
