There Will Be Blood.

Personally, I'll always prefer "I'm a business man." to "I drink your milkshake!" :o

Nah, didn't like it so much. It follows the classic formula for the "kitchen sink" films of the time but unfortunately it drags on for too long and it is noticeable that it's a product of its time. Richard Harris' performance helps to make the movie almost worth seeing but it does not help that for all the intensity he brings for his part, there's a dated and theatrical feel to the film and that as this side becomes dominant, eventually I began to lose interest. I think it's the flashbacks that's bringing it down. The music also strikes me as inappropriate at times, ruining the mood of the scenes. Could be that I need a second viewing but I'm going to hold it off for now.

DragonSlayer

Not a bad movie for its time and a childhood favorite.

Wanderlust
Friends with Kids
21 Jump Street
John Carter
Jeff Who Lives At Home
Being Flynn

I really wouldn't mind seeing this remade.

I hope Kevin Bacon doesn't get stuck in the realms of straight to DVD action movies.

Kingdom of Heaven Directors Cut. Masterpiece. Scott's best outside of Alien and Blade Runner imo. Historically inaccurate, but intended so as to show the positive and negative parallels between Christianity and Islam. Amazing performances from everyone, although the weak spot is Bloom, who is fine in the quieter scenes but lacks the presence in the final rousing speech in Jerusalem. Ed Norton in particular gives an outstanding performance. Also Massoud and Siddig are great as the Muslim leaders. The butchered theatrical release of this has gotta be the biggest mistake by Fox in the Tom Rothman era. Utter idiocy.

21 JUMP STREET

Most people will say they remember the T.V series 21 Jump Street because it launched the career of Johnny Depp.It is a fact that that Depp had talent and he was going places, and the ratings and fans fled after Depp left the show in season 4.
But i also remember the show for taking on the subjects of teens facing death,AIDS,and
teen pregnancy.
But aside from one serious moment dont look for any of those heavy subjects in
the 2012 comedy 21 Jump Street.
Morton Schmidt (Jonah Hill) and Greg Jenko (Channing Tatum) once schoolmates
buddy up at the police academy and become partners. Schmidt is the smart one,Jenko the dim one,but they are equals when it comes to their lack of maturity and following police procedure. So they are sent to the Jump Street outfit, and assigned to infiltrate and integrate themselves into a group of teens selling a new killer drug.
You have to love a movie that pokes fun at a T.V series that ended in 1991 and then turns the joke mirror on itself for making such a movie about a late 80's early 90's series.
Hill and Tatum are great together.I knew Hill was funny but Tatum is a revelation here.He has excelled in some sappy films as of late at the box office, but i can see him portraying a character like Frank Drebin from the Naked Gun films in the future and if he hasnt already he will likely receive a ton of comedy scripts.
Ice Cube as Capt. Dickson,Dave Franco as Eric, and Brie Larson as Molly add some nice and funny touches to the film.
It's raunchy, its violent, and its fun looking forward to the sequel
Scale of 1-10 an 8

Casa de Mi Padre

Will Ferrell said he was inspired to produce Casa de Mi Padre while flipping through the channels and watching several telenovela's and becoming addicted to them.He liked the beautiful women and the beyond passionate acting.I share his love for novelas because i recently became addicted to the novela La Reina del Sur.
Casa de Mi Padre is a parody of such novelas and badly made films of the late 70's and early 80's .Casa de Mi Padre has obvious sight gags of mannequins as stand ins and stuffed animals replacing real animals.Every joke doesnt work, some jokes go on to long but when it works it is extremely funny.

Scale of 1-10 an 8

sidenote:
I thought it was pretty funny that a group of about six people walked out 10 minutes into the movie mumbling they thought it was a serious film...people do your research before seeing a film!!!!

Alien 4. Very well done. The human-alien hybrid was even creepier than the original Alien design, if that is possible.

John Carpenter's The Thing (1982)

John Carpenter's The Thing is my absolute favorite scifi thriller! Kurt Russell at his badass best (this side of the excellent Escape from New York anyway). Kids growing up with CG effects in scifi/horror movies who might think that CG is the end all be all of great movie making, need to take a look at this masterpiece, which we call The Thing. I own this movie in my collection and it will always have a place there.

Thouroughly enjoyable fantasy sci fi adventure. 7.8/10

21 Jump Street. Hilarious for the first 3/5ths of it. I wish it would have keep up the constant laughs more though.

A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. **** yea! Love this movie. Martin Freeman, Mos Def, Sam Rockwell, Zooey Deschanel, Alan Rickman... awesome.

It brings up a difficult question though; who has the best narration voice? Stephen Fry or Morgan Freeman? My moneys on Fry for his droll wit.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

I don't get the hate, I really don't. This was lightyears better than the first one, Cage was as beautifully demented as anything he's done since Deadfall, Idris Elba played drunken French Blade like a boss and they even squeezed in a Christopher Lambert cameo. They totally need to make Crank 3 with Cage as Chelios' father.

I know you're not big fan of Channing Tatum, but what did you think of him in this? I heard from some people that he's actually pretty funny and has some great chemistry with Jonah Hill.
