Valley Girl - 6/10

Cage Rating - 7/10

Wow... only in college I would watch this. And it's just one of those movie where I'm only watching it for Nic Cage. But this is Cage's first major starring role. He's solid in it for his character and there's some emerging hints of his craziness. I'm glad Cage had his teenage girl idol stage in the 80's. You know somewhere in America, a teenage girl had Nic Cage on her wall once upon a time. Otherwise, the movie isn't that compelling, other than the pursuit of the really hot mom subplot which ultimately went nowhere. At least it had an ending like The Graduate.

... We got about 40 movies left of Nic Cage.

Sucker Punch

There a couple of really awesome movies in here. A 'Great Escape' type film with an all female cast. Allies vs Zombie Germans. Ninjas and Samurai vs Giant Samurai monster. Under Siege 2 in space with robots.

I love that, despite all the implied rape, the MPAA only had a problem with a scene where a girl willingly wants to have sex with Jon Hamm, I'm straight and I would consent to having sex with Jon Hamm. It's not even a sex scene, it's a girl consenting, cut to another scene. ****ing puritanical morons.

The Shawshank Redemption

It's one of the many classics I've wanted to see but never got the chance and man it was really something. Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins was excellent and the movie brings up many ideas and issues of and about humanity. It's a damn good film and it's worth watching.
9.5/10

Infinity/10

Yes, I love this movie. One of the best superhero movies to date.

Safe House
Safe describes this movie pretty well. Bland and despite the constant shooting and 'splosions, pretty dull as well.

One of the worst movie titles ever but Chuckles actually gives quite a human performance here for his standards and it's more thriller than action movie with just one actual big fight scene at the end. The killer seems influenced by a mix of Solomon Grundy and The Creeper from one of the old Basil Rathbone Sherlock Holmes movies.

It has quite a good atmosphere thanks to the setting and some well judged tense moments, plus it avoids going the cliche way you think it will with Chuck's girlfriend/mother of his soon to be born child, although there are plot elements that don't make a lot of sense. Still! I quite enjoyed it. 6/10

4.5/5

It's been too long since I last watched this. I forgot how great this movie is.

Only problem I can think of is that it did seem too much like a studio movie compared to a more earthy western like Unforgiven.

Starts well and the acting and atmosphere are good, but it's clear some abrupt editing was done and it becomes a bit paint by numbers after the first act. 6.5/10

Aliens, the Director's Cut. The added extras make this great movie even better!

Hobo with a shotgun.

Had very low expectations, but still got disappointed.

Really liked this. Charlize did a great job and Patton Oswalt is entertaining as always. Funny, a little sad and even painful in a few scenes. 4/5
