Street Smart (1987) - good underrated thriller

Battle Los Angeles (2011)

3/5

The King's Speech

8/10 so long as it was an easy record on TMC. I'd never have paid to see it in a theater but for what it was it was quite nice.

Around The World In 80 Days, starring Jackie Chan and Steve Coogan.

Gladiator: 4.5/5

A beautiful and masterful film. Brilliant direction, cinematography, score and script. Great performances from everyone.

Midnight Run - 8/10

Solid and funny 80's comedy. With some good acting and surprising depth to it.

Ocean's Eleven - 10/10

Ocean's Twelve - 8/10

The Descent. Don't know why it took me this long to see it. But it's awesome. A proper horror movie. ****ing terrifying, and that's not even including the creatures. Just the whole sense of claustrophobia and isolation is what gets me. There is a part in it where they are crawling through this tiny passage and one of the girls gets stuck. She starts freaking out and panicking and so was I! Ahhhhh just thinking about it now gives me the willies.

What did you think of the score? Julyan is probably the most underrated composer today. The last five minutes really get to me.

The Girl who Played with Fire

Dumb, silly, pulpy and trashy shlock.

7/10

The Hunger Games

Good second half.

7/10

Gladiator.

I might just be a queer, but I've never really thought this movie was all that good.

John Carpenter's The Thing

Seven

Captain America

Gladiator.

I might just be a queer, but I've never really thought this movie was all that good.

I never did either, other than on a technical level. Pales in comparison to stuff like Spartacus(1960)

Definitely. I'm a big fan of the classical period too. Both Spartacus, and even the Masterpiece Theatre production of I, Claudius were more engrossing by leaps and bounds.

The Big Bang

A pretty cool wierdo noir, similar in execution to Angel Heart, but with metaphysical, rather than supernatural overtone. Total WTF movie. It has a pretty amazing cast too.

Operation: Endgame

Meh. Rob Corddry was excellent in his role as a Bruce Willis type drunk, over the hill, grouchy assassin, but the surrounding film just wasn't good enough for his character.
