The Dark Knight What's the need to recycle Rachel Dawes and Scarecrow?

Is it because of Nolan's loyalty to the actors and scriptwriters? I want to see new villains like the Penguin or Riddler, and less so with Scarecrow. There are going to be 3 movies from Nolan, so a variety of villains is needed.

Scarecrow is a loose end from BB. He wasn't killed or jailed. And now he will likely be more Scarecrow and less Jonathan Crane the corrupt Arkham Doctor in this one, so I think his inclusion is interesting.

How bout' you see the movie first before asking such a question?

:cwink:

Familiar with freedom of opinion, Gestapo?

I second that.

And you cannot engage to discuss with reasons right? Always with Gestapo tactics.

I'm not unhappy about the movie. I'm just questioning the reason why Scarecrow is in the movie again because I just know it after seeing the pics in SHH main page (Rachel is secondary). It's my opinion that it's better if Scarecrow should be left out from the 2nd movie. The reality as we know along can't be changed as Scarecrow WILL be in the movie.

But some of you are really like cold blooded Gestapo to want to lock the thread without giving any feedbacks. No hard feelings from my part.

It's Gestapo. It kinds fits on you nicely.

Stop using Gestapo. it's wildly melodramatic, a crap insult to throw at anyone, and is fundamentally just whiny. I couldn't care less about your opinion, but I ask you to be more inventive in your choice of insult.

I get the point.

I'm not sure I agree with Scarecrow and Rachel are established Batman characters like Alfred and Gordon. Rachel is a character made for the movie. Scarecrow is Batman's secondary villains.

Maybe not in the comic book mythos (Hell, Rachel doesn't even exist in the comics) but in the MOVIE they are established. They need no backstory to have them in TDK.

As for Rachel Dawes, I believe it's even more unnecessary. Batman doesn't require a romantic arc that will cut off some time for action scenes.

Batman:
More action scenes
More detective scenes
Less romance
Less people gawking over Bat-Toys
Less recycled villain

man, it's simple. Their stories aren't concluded

Funny, people complain that villains are constantly killed in superhero movies and don´t come back, a villain comes back, that´s "recyclying"...

You're late to the party and our exchanges have concluded. Hey, I'm being reactionary there because guys just throw that thread lock kind of thing without saying any arguments. Hey, I'm a reasonable guy. And logically, I know what a Gestapo is; no need to put in that Wiki page.

Once again, please don't be late to the party. ;)

But thats the difference with THIS film , because we have already been INTRODUCED to the Scarecrow and Rachel Dawes.
Its not like we need to start from scratch and display their backstories all over again, as we did in the first film. Thats what Harvey and Joker will be there for =)

Bringing Scarecrow and Ms.Dawes back is no different than bringing Alfred or Gordon back.
They are already established characters.

And I'll stick to getting those handjobs, thank you very much.
You sound like you may need one, fuq.

Did you read the entire post and what I was responding to or did you just skip down to the handjob part?

Your just bored.
Very, very bored & excited for this film to come out.
So in the meantime you complain.
Because like I said, your just bored.

nuff said.

thats the fanboys. :woot:

and i dont care if somene thinks that i am using the word fanboy for this.

it is how it is.

not all but some.

Of course.

" If incorporating all those characters make for a good story then I'm all for bringing them in "

Who says it wont have a good story or tie-in with the other characters ?
Ummmm ... Nobody ...
As I mentioned to the post earlier, you are just bored and excited.
All will be fine, dont worry.

The reason is simple: both of their stories aren't finished. Think of the Nolan Batman trilogy like the LOTR trilogy (although BB>>>>anything LOTR), no one had a problem with keeping the same villains, good guys for those films...what's the difference here? The Batman Begins/The Dark Knight/The Dark Knight Returns (or WTF ever the third film is called) to me is like one big story (like LOTR).

No offense, but this thread is kind of pointless...Rachel and Scarecrow are integral parts of the story which is not finished yet.

Of course.

As in of course you just skipped down to the handjob part? :woot:

My point in my first post is I don't want to see every Batman villian and sidekick in this series just for the sake of having them. I like where the series is going right now (which includes Rachel and Scarecrow - I think Crane is awesome) and all I care about is two more great Batman films that follow Begins regardless of who the characters are.

While we're at it why do we need to recycle Batman also? Do he really need to be in the sequel ? :oldrazz:

I'm really happy to see Scarecrow back, although I'll admit that originally I was hoping Rachel wouldn't be back.

Im glad Nolan doesnt leave loose ends, I respect Nolan for puting Rachel back into the picture because it wouldnt have made sense to have Harvey Dent without Rachel Dawes...
