What's the timeline between Hunt For Red October and Patriot Games?

In movie terms I was under the impression that Patriot Games takes place 2-3 years after Red October.

Maybe I'm wrong but that seems to be how much Ryans daughter has aged between the two.

I don't know about the other two books, but I'm sure that Red Rabbit was supposed to be set before October, though it was written more recently.

Red October was the first book Clancy wrote and published, but in the storyline of Jack Ryan it's not the first.

Ben Afleck was a horrible Jack Ryan. And William Defoe was a better John Clark.

Without Remorse is about the John Kelly joining the CIA and becoming John Clark. Jack Ryan is in college at the time.

Patriot Games is the one where Ryan joins the CIA. And then storywise, Red Rabbit happens after it.
