She releases like 3 or 4 romantic comedies a year and has been doing so ever since her split with Pitt. I mean do these films actually make money is that why she keeps making them over and over and over again?

When Kate Hudson passes, it's up for grabs..Aniston style.

I think it's her way to meet men...

She's also been pigeonholed, and may simply not have the opportunity to branch out anymore. I mean... would you hire Anniston for a riveting true story drama?

If the story was about a woman who looked, sounded, and acted like Aniston... sure.

Sure , if she was willing to do alot for her role. And by that that i mean
1) taking a paycut
2) fully prepare herself for her role as most serious actors do.

Sooner or later Aniston will suffer the problems that Sandra Bullock had , which is just people getting tired of her in rom coms. The only way Aniston can secure herself a spot in hollywood is he she starts going for the critical acclaimed movies. 'She'll have a hard time proving herself but if she succeeds in that at least she can prove that she's able to play in different genres.

Jennifer Aniston reminds adult women of the pretty popular girl in high school who they wished was their friend but never was. So instead these grown women will pay money to see her in a movie, no matter how bad it is.

What's with her in RomCom's? A dead or dying career.

What's wierd is that she was critically acclaimed for THE GOOD GIRL earlier in her career... but it seems she's just cashing out now for the mainstream commercial flicks.

Good actress though, just needs to get her **** straightened out.

they all bomb at the box office too.

Dunno about that. Sure her latest movies aren't setting the BO on fire but they are profitable.
I just checked BOMOJO and her movies have performed quite well

But i think that the audiences are just getting tired of her.

Exactly. Indie movies can give you critical acclaim ( if you give the right performance) but they don't pay you alot. Not to mention that very few indie actors and actresses can make the transition to more commercial movies simply because of lack of name recognisition. If she were to do more indie movies , it would've taken Aniston a long time to get the status she now has in hollywood.

She's not very good. And romantic comedies allow you to play the same character again and again. Perfect match I'll say.

Believe it or not....most women prefer to watch romantic comedies instead of Batman.

I have no idea, but this constant string of Aniston led romantic comedies are pissing me off, especially since I'm forced to go see each and every one. :argh:

I am well aware of that but rom com with the same actress acting the same? Over and over? Surely even for them it must be nauseating.

Aniston has definitely got herself stuck in a particular genre. Despite what some may think her movies don't always bomb.

The Bounty Hunter made $140 million on a $40 million budget.

Love Happens made $35 million on a $18 million budget.

The Break-Up made $200 million, Marley and Me made $250 million.

As long as her movies make a profit she will be the go-to actress whenever someone wants to make a rom-com, even if she is just playing herself. People obviously like it (even though The Switch hasn't done that great this weekend). The problem for her is that because she is stuck as the rom-com girl she doesn't get offered other roles. Action, dramas, thrillers, comic book movies, blockbusters never come her way, so unless she lobby's hard for a particular role outside her genre she's just going to be doing the same comedy stuff.

And she don't even do nudity. She'd do better if she let her boobs hang out every once in a while.

She likes making really bland, really boring and predictable movies. If a movie has check marks in those three boxes, then it is a go for her, imo.

It's not even art to her anymore. It's just another paycheck.

Hahaha! So true.

Personally I think it's because she really isn't a good actress and it's the only thing she can get cast for. All I know is that although most genre's have movies that keep reusing the same idea(see a lot of action and horror films)I do think that Rom-Coms are the ones that have overstayed their welcome. Biased? Maybe but most of the time the humour isn't even that good and you know the two main characters will get together in the end after the guy screws it up at first.

My girlfriend, one of the most opinionated and critical actresses I've ever met, told me yesterday that she likes Jennifer Aniston.

This floored me, because every time we watch a movie together, she deconstructs every actor's performance and points out all of the things they (supposedly) did wrong. The only movie... I mean, the ONLY movie she didn't do this with (that I can remember) was Inception. She tore apart Carrie Mulligan's brilliant performance in An Education. She trashed Billy Crudup's performances in Watchmen and a dozen other movies. She refuses to even watch a film with George Clooney or Russell Crowe.

And yet she likes Jennifer F**king Aniston, an actress who is so one-note, they might as well name her character "Rachel" in every movie that she appears in.

I know women generally like romantic comedies, but give me a break.

Is your gf a professional actress? How long has she been acting and on what type of level(theatrical, stage or TV)?

I just find it :whatever: worthy when someone who acts(and usually on a small scale) all of a sudden thinks they're an expert at the craft and judge real professionals(although not all of them are good of course) harshly as if they could do better or just know better in general.

Also, what does she mean by "what they did wrong"???

Exactly. PLUS....women feel they can relate to her as she was 'screwed over by a man'. They feel like, yeah, me too sister. She's one of us.

She just a tired sad chick who needs to say relevant. Not married no kids losing looks and her ex and his new beau are living the dream.
