There will be chance to do the Death of Gwen Stacy story arc. Should it be done exactly like the comics, done different from the comic or not at all?

If they do it when should it happen movie 2 or movie 3?

Movie 2, so that there's a followup to her death, and by whichever means.

Movie 3. Buildup to it, introduce MJ in the 4th. :)

Just doing Gwen for three movies and killing her is too much like the Raimi movies except the gf dies in the third movie. Besides, what makes Gwen interesting is how she plays off of MJ as a foil. And MJ being there for an angry and bitter Peter at the end would make for a great final scene in say film 2 after Gwen is gone.

My opinion.

In the third installment. Thrown off a bridge by Green Goblin.

Who's to say Spidey HAS to be happy by the trilogy's end? He could have a renowned purpose to be Spider-Man after the death of his first love.

If Gwen dies in the second movie it could be the Empire Strikes Back of the Spider-man movies which leaves room for a happy conclusion at the end of the trilogy.

Ending the trilogy with Gwen Stacy's death is way too depressing.

No, Cause if she dies in the 3rd one we might not see another love interest.
Have the goblin build up in the 2nd film at the end of the 2nd film kill Gwen then in the beginning of the 3rd film have gobbie die.

My thoughts exactly!

I don't think it would really matter if she dies or not if the next film is a reboot anyway. Then nothing that happened in that continuity would matter.

If Gwen dies in the second movie it could be the Empire Strikes Back of the Spider-man movies which leaves room for a happy conclusion at the end of the trilogy.

I don't need a happy ending.

AMSIII

Thrown off a bridge by Green Goblin. But it has to be dramatic, serious and sad. I don't want a happy ending for this one.

I don't think that putting it at the end of the trilogy gives one enough time to explore the effects of Gwen's death. After all, ending ASMIII with Gwen's death doesn't mean as much without an ASMIV.

I can see Gwen getting killed, but there's still a chance they won't kill her. Didn't Emma say she was signed on for several movies? If it does happen, I don't think it would happen in the second movie. More likely the third film.

Bingo, exactly my thoughts.

If they pull off the death of Gwen, especially just like from the comics, it would easily be one of my favorite moments in any movie. Words can't describe how I'd react in the theater.

Agreed.

She's signed on for more than 2 movies. It won't be happening in the sequel.

It's possible that she may die and return for flashbacks, like Cliff Robertson and Willem Defoe did in the Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy.

True.

But if they just rush in with the Goblin, that's no development for Norman's character. At all. Which is something I want to see.

Why does it have to be a trilogy? Because the Raimi's Spider-Man was never going to be a trilogy. It was going to go up to Spider-Man 6.

I want to see at least four. I have faith in Marc Webb.

I'd like to see it happen in the second movie, where MJ would be introduced as well. In the third, they could play off the tragedy, Peter's resolve and further the groundwork/strength of the Peter/MJ relationship as we know (or expect) it, even though it likely wouldn't be fully solidified by trilogy's end.

Stop calling this a trilogy! You're jinxing it! If Raimi's Spider-Man had plans to go up to Spider-Man 6, this can at least get 4 movies. :D

Just an assumption on how studios like to seem to structure these things as they start. I'm in for as many quality movies as they can crank out.

No jinx! :ninja:

It should happen exactly like the comics in whichever movie Green Goblin appears in. I voted for it to happen in the second movie, since I want to see Gobby as soon as possible.

Let's face it, these are made in trilogies for two reasons:
  1. The three act structure: Beginning, Middle, End
  2. You'd be lucky to get to 3 with 3 good movies.
Personally, I would like the Green Goblin to be set up as an enigma, like in the original comics.

But what I'm saying is Raimi's Spider-Man was never intended to be a trilogy.

The beginning, middle and end thing makes sense. But I'd still like it if a major villain like the Green Goblin got some development as Norman Osborn before they introduce the Green Goblin. If Webb can pull off introducing Norman and having him turn into the Green Goblin in one movie, wicked. I'd like that too. :)

I want it to happen in the third. Introduce MJ in the final scenes of TASM3 similar to how Autumn is introduced in (500) Days of Summer at the end. I think it'd be a very neat and happy ending.

Maybe a "6 months later" thing happens and it cuts to Peter leaving his house. As he's leaving he sees MJ leave her house next door and they break into conversation as the film fades to black.
