What I'm thinking is, since it was Conan's first time at bat he didn't get too carried away but if they ask him to come back (and they damn well BETTER ) he'll probably play a little more fast and loose with easter eggs to his past bits. It's just a shame he didn't host during the year The Revenant was nominated because you just know he would have brought back this guy:

The problem is that he was speaking for almost 6 minutes but didn't end up saying much. I've heard more impactful speeches at 30 seconds. I did anticipate it. A couple of days ago, I listened to a podcast of him talking about his career, and it took him forever to say anything. Anything.

Nah, Dune still deserved it. Honestly this one was the least-impressive Apes VFX since Rise for me. A step backward in every way from Dawn/War. Never forgot I was watching CG apes in this one, so I already know that will be the case a decade from now. Dune’s VFX have that timeless feel.

I thought Alien: Romulus, Dune 2, and Kingdom deserved it. ...but Better Man deserved it more.

Clearly WETA took their time on that one.

I can picture it now, the perfect tee up to this joke at the Oscars would be disguising it as an E.T. tribute.
