DUI's are overrated.
You're right. There's a reason why they live after killing someone or ****ing up someone else's life. Unfortunately, not everyone who's been in that situation learn from their mistake. Others live to repeat the same thing. The first time may be a mistake but not if it's repeated.I don't think its even as simple as losing someone they love, it's until they've ****ed up someone else's life and have to deal with the consequences of their actions.
73% of DUI's are overrated. If the legal limit is say .8 blood alcohol level and I get pulled over with a .9, really how big a deal is that?
It's overrated until an accident happens. I am sure everyone who's been in a DUI accident feel that way and has the same cocky confidence that it's okay to get behind the wheel because they know what they're doing. I don't think anyone who's been drinking gets behind the wheel thinking "I'm going to get into an accident today and possibly kill someone".
Yes, accidents happen but driving while intoxicated just increases that chance of getting into an accident. That's just irresponsible and shows utter disregard for other people's safety. I don't mind if an intoxicated driver gets into an accident and hurt/kill himself/herself. They made that choice, no need to take/ruin someone else's life for their poor judgment.I don't think anyone gets in a car like that and thinks that period. I mean, non-drunk people kill other people in car accidents everyday. The circle of life and all that.
I think the analogy is fineI don't work in hypotheticals, because in that scenario, the guy could have never touched a drink in his life, and he'd still be a dead man. Generally speaking, people don't like their wife and kids smashed up under any circumstance. Horrible analogy.
I think the analogy is fine
But let's put it another way.
You're driving under the influence and you end up hurting yourself, end up needing amputation and putting yourself through unnecessary social, medical and economic struggles all because you underestimated your speed and your reaction time was extended. Something you've done a million times sober in all driving conditions.
OMG, Darth you were serious.
Drunk Driving increases the likely hood of making someone dead so it's bad to do. Also it's against the law so it's stupid to do.
Typing while intoxicated should be an offense as it hurts my head when the things I read don't make any sense.
Timeout til sober.Banworthy even.
mmmmI'm just saying everyone is like "OMG DUI, he is going to kill my wife and kids!" When most of the time, nothing of the sort happens. The only reason DUI related deaths seem so common is because we put the spotlight on them.
WeRd.
Funnily enough the only people I know who have died in an auto collision were sober at the time.![]()
