Seriously...they said they have a really good script. Jackman is wolverine, all they need is a director, what are they waiting for? they need to hurry before bryan cox dies or Hugh starts looking too old.

They don't have a director yet, and Hugh has to film "Australia" first, which at the moment is scheduled to finish filming sometime in August or September, so don't expect anything before then.

Hugh said he'd like a few months to train for WOLVERINE after he's finished with his other film commitment. I'm hoping they push Wolverine to 2009, so Hugh can train, and so they can develop more of the script with the director (when he is eventually signed), and everything else. 2009 would run-in with the 3-year wait we have come to know anyways.

And is it selfish of me to hope Hugh squeezes in another Broadway show to that insane schedule of his before Wolverine? :woot:

"Leap of Faith" - which Hugh has been workshopping - is definitely scheduled for the 2007-2008 Broadway season, which runs from October to May (the musical can open up anywhere in that timeframe). I would assume if he's workshopping it he's going to do the musical...

The man is a machine, does he ever take any time off?

Actually, since he finished filming "The Tourist" at the beginning of January, he's been lying low until he starts filming "Australia" at the end of April/beginning of May and has been hanging around NY where he lives and his son goes to school. Of course, we don't know what he's doing behing the scenes - he is doing the "Leap of Faith" workshop the week of March 12 and has been overseeing the casting of the pilot for CBS's "Viva Laughlin!" where he's a producer and will guest star (which I assume he has to film before he leaves for Australia), plus he was a presenter at last week's Oscars and was seen at the Vanity Fair party. I'm sure he's doing other stuff we don't know about, but he hasn't been filming since January.

Hugh has stated he works less than most people - I know we are always reading about what he's doing but if you think about it, most people work a 40-hour week and only have weekends off. When actors finish a movie they usually take weeks or months off before they do another one (like in this instance). So sometimes I wonder who has it better... although all the flying on airplanes would kill me - I still don't get how Hugh and family, including a 6-year old and a 20-month old - can fly from NY to Australia all the time, which non-stop is 24 hours and loss or gain of a few days. I flew to London once which is 7 hrs. (I think) from NY and practically slept for two days straight.

Back to "Wolverine" - "Australia" is scheduled to end filming in either August or September, depending on how things go. When "Wolverine" will be filmed after that is anyone's guess - first they need a director!
