The Dark Knight Rises When was TDK officially announced?

Like, how long after Batman Begins did Warner Bros. officially acknowledge that a sequel was in the works?

Just to get an idea of when we'll have official confirmation on this one.

TDK was announced in July 2006, at the same time that Ledger was announced to be playing the Joker.

So a year after? Well we knew a sequel was coming to BB, we just didn't know the title until the above date.

I think it's pretty apparent that TDK will get a sequel seeing as how it's making WB a **** load of cash. It's probably a top priority of theirs, now.
