When will "Gargoyles" get its due?

Im all for it. Guilermo Del Toro should Direct.

He always sticks to that blue cholor scheme. Guliermo's style is all over the place.

Hmm I didnt like Mimic, Blade 2, or Hellboy. In fact I really disliked them. I loved Pan's Labyrinth but Gargoyles isnt that type of movie.

As a fan of Gargoyles I think Wiseman's style suits them better.

Hell yeah dude, us kids of the 90s deserve our shows to be made into live action films as well!!! It's not fair! We should have some too!

Gargoyles, Captain Planet, etc., etc.

Also a CGI Darkwing Duck film!!!!!! Come on, you know you'd love it! Think similar to TMNT, animated revival of a classic.

aw man, honestly a Captain Planet movie would be so cool.

Maybe in the next decade when the 90's make a comeback we'll see a Gargoyles, Exo-Squad and  Savage Dragon  movie.

Since so few would want a Gargoyle movie, I think they already got their due :p

It would be difficult to give the Gargoyles justice in a movie. There's a lot to cover, between their loyalty to the humans at Castle Wyvern, the attack by the vikings, the betrayal of the Captain of the castles guards, Goliath's discovery of the curse, Xanato's acquisition of the Gargoyles, the betrayal of Demona and Xanatos and becoming friends with Eliza.

(That's a long sentence and a lot of commas. :o )

Trilogy, everbody else is doing those anyway

im all up for one....

just as long as its nothing below pg-13

If they're going to go the trilogy route, I think all three should be outlined and probably written before hand. The two best trilogies I can think of - Star Wars and LOTR, both started as one work which were split into three parts.

Star Wars wasn't written beforehand.

George had the whole story mapped out for all three parts before doing the first.

Could be great. The first movie could be Xanatos bringing them into the fold and tricking them and the lady cop saving them and they get Xanatos sent to prison at the end.

They could also do a very good sequel with Xanatos engineering the female gargoyle's return against them from jail and bring in MacBeth and the hunter. I also think Keith David should be the voice of Goliath and what's his name should do Xanatos (he was in ST:TNG and would need to lose some weight).

But I doubt it'd be done its justice and probably be about a teen befriending the gargoyles and the non-talking Bronx being his pet and helping him get laid as they fight empty-shelled villains. Not sure where that came from...

Oh well.

If they made it live action they should keep Keith David as the voice of Goliath. Maybe Eva Longoria could play Elisa.

Im afraid, there going to put all this in one movie:(

Nah. I want an actress who can act. Even if this is a "cartoon movie." I think Catherine Zeta Jones would have been perfect 10 years ago. Age could work as a hardened cop though....Same goes with Hayek.

I don't know. Rosario Dawson would be a good fit.

considering how Eliza and Xanatos were drawn like their voice actors, if they made a movie Sali Richardson and Jonathan Franks should play them. Also get back the David Keith and the rest of the Gargoyles VA for the movie.

Star Wars and LOTR are epic adventure films that everyone watches. Gargoyles don't even compare.

I'm not trying to compare them. I was just making a point that franchises are revolving around trilogies and three-picture deals now, but the consistancy between the resulting three movies is lacking. If Hollywood wants a better three-movie story arc, they need to write the whole story at once. If a franchise such as this were done in the same manner as LOTR, even going so far as to film all three at once, it could transcend the current following and really appeal to a mass audience.

at first when i saw this thread, i thought perhaps it wouldn't be a good idea but this is based purely on the fact that story was sometimes far too complex to be translated into a film, i mean honestly some of their story arcs were just amazing.

however if we are going to base it on the first arc and tell the old story how they were betrayed by humans and the curse and how xanatos brings them back, it would potentially make a really good film just over 2 hrs in length.

if marketed correctly and brought out around halloween, this cuold be as big a phenomenon as perhaps harry potter is.
