With all these childhood cartoon to movie transformations we're getting, why has "Gargoyles" been overlooked? I want "Gargoyles"!
It would be difficult to give the Gargoyles justice in a movie. There's a lot to cover, between their loyalty to the humans at Castle Wyvern, the attack by the vikings, the betrayal of the Captain of the castles guards, Goliath's discovery of the curse, Xanato's acquisition of the Gargoyles, the betrayal of Demona and Xanatos and becoming friends with Eliza.
(That's a long sentence and a lot of commas.)
Star Wars wasn't written beforehand. If they're going to go the trilogy route, I think all three should be outlined and probably written before hand. The two best trilogies I can think of - Star Wars and LOTR, both started as one work which were split into three parts.

If they made it live action they should keep Keith David as the voice of Goliath. Maybe Eva Longoria could play Elisa.

I don't know. Rosario Dawson would be a good fit.
I'm not trying to compare them. I was just making a point that franchises are revolving around trilogies and three-picture deals now, but the consistancy between the resulting three movies is lacking. If Hollywood wants a better three-movie story arc, they need to write the whole story at once. If a franchise such as this were done in the same manner as LOTR, even going so far as to film all three at once, it could transcend the current following and really appeal to a mass audience.Star Wars and LOTR are epic adventure films that everyone watches. Gargoyles don't even compare.
