When will "Gargoyles" get its due?

Disney may as well just break down and use the ****ing property. They could even put it under the Walt Disney label now after National Treasure and POTC with their more mature themed franchises. PG-13 for action violence, some disturbing images and some subtle Demona on Eliza lesbo action, and we're straight.

as cool as the cartoon was, it never grew in popularity. I mean, it's not even nostalgic to me. Nor does it have a dedicated cult fan-base either that I know of.

I was watching this last night and thinking to myself, "why hasn't Disney made a live-action movie yet?" I wonder if they remember that this show still exists. They made a film based on a Disney World ride but they can't adapt Gargoyles?

Although I imagine Keith David and Marina Sirtis, could still voice Goliath and Demona as the Gargoyles would likely be CG, and could even still borrow some of their likeness.

I just realized that one of the rough things about Gargoyles is that it hasn't really been adapted yet in any form. Not only is the cartoon still the definitive version, it's really the only version. There's some branching off at the end with "Goliath Chronicles" and the comic spinoffs, of course, but it makes it that much harder to let go of the original stellar performers.

But the only way to revive interest is to adapt it, which for all the popularity and longevity of this franchise is still uncharted waters. Once again, it's kind of like Star Trek that way, but on a much smaller scale. All the TV shows and movies (and even the novels) were continuations of the same universe, until the JJ reboot which (putting aside the Old Spock time-travel techno-babble) is technically a big-screen adaptation of a show from the 60s. It was the first time they re-cast the main characters.
