When you go out to dinner with a group of people...

Split

  • We're all friends, lets divide the whole thing evenly

  • We're all friends, lets divide the meal portion of the check evenly..but apply tips seperately

  • Everyone should pay for their OWN food...I'm not paying for the veal when all I had a small soup

  • I don't go out with groups of people

I just pay for my own and split the tip equally.
But once in a while I feel generous and pay for everyone.

People that want to split the check equally are asses.

I always promise to pay next time, but never do.

Why isn't running away an option in the poll?

If I do split the check its only under special circumstances such as somone saying "hey can I buy you dinner?" then we split it...yes I pay,but thats because I will not allow anyone to buy me dinner and I wont go out with somone without paying for theres.

I don't eat out with people.

I don't even really eat...but yeah, regardless of whether or not its good or bad...15%, maybe more...no less.

If the service is horrible, I don't tip and find another place to eat

whats wrong with that? you paid for the food. if he does'nt feel like tipping, then he does feel it. me? im a cheap ass,so meh. but i'll probbaly feel gilty and tip the person anyways.

You both misunderstand....you eat at another place after having already ate at the crappy one?

Actually, I have a very special policy involving bad service.

Crappy service gets $1. That's it. If the meal was altogether less than $10 (like when I go to Denny's), then you get a penny. $0.01. Take it or leave it, you sorry excuse for a struggling actor.

lmao:woot:

No.

If I go to a restaurant, I expect good service. If there isn't, then I don't tip.

The next time I go to a restaurant for a meal, I make sure to not return to the one with the **** service. I find another restaurant to eat at. If the service there is good, I tip and will more than likely come back again for another meal

Ah...can you list some crappy chains you've eaten at?

10% is apparently the norm for a tip here, but we often leave a lot more than that in a place we like.

I have actually never eaten out with a big group of people unless it was something like a birthday meal, when you all knew who was paying for it. When my wife and I eat out, we pay with our joint account.

We usually split but I pay the tip. I'm a very generous tipper. So thank jeebuz I don't eat with groups often.

Depends with one friend we always split it like she pays for hers and I pay for mine. With another one, she pays for all of it one day and I pay for all of it the next time. We don't care much about money, so it works out. The first one is ridiculously tight with her money. Also, I think its ridiculous to just divide the bill evenly. What if one person gets a steak and the other gets a sandwich. Its just dumb.
