The Avengers Where they have gone wrong with the avengers project so far

Who says they are saving the heavy effects work for the Cleveland shoot. That could just be establishing New York type stuff. Maybe they are starting with the big effects scenes so they will have plenty of post time, it's been done before!

The only things that really disappoint me are Norton not coming back and the appearant lack of the Pyms, but I'm otherwise still looking forward to the film.

The Pyms thing certainly bums me out because the question also remains when are we going to see a cinematic Vision or Ultron, by extension.

It's kind of funny. A friend of mine who's never read the Avengers has been watching the Earth's Mightiest Heroes cartoon and he think's Pym is the coolest of all the characters, because of the visuals such a character brings to the table what with being able to go ant-size or giant.

And this is coming from what is essentially a person who represents the GA.

Janet is my favourite on that show. It's just really well written and evenly balanced. Not "Iron Man, Thor, Cap and Hulk are the BEST!".

The cartoon rocks, man. Sadly, I beleive that it's the closest we're ever going to get to the comics given that if they actually tried to do some of the stuff in the comics as live-action, the budget would be about a billion dollars.

I remember watching the Graviton smackdown in the docking yard with all those trailer cars being thrown round and thinking 'we'll never see anything like that in a movie as it would just be too damned expensive'.

I don't know about that Braddock, you'd be suprised at how many big stunts they can pull with a budget over 200 million (which the Avengers will have).

Iron Man 2 had hundreds of vehicles being destroyed in the scene where he was being chased by War Machine & the Hammer Drones(budget was 170-180 million) , so hopefully stuff like A:EMH's "trailer car" stunt isn't too far fetched.

He's getting his own movie, most likely with Janet in it too.

I'm honestly not sure why they wouldn't introduce him in Avengers first but oh well.

Zak fuc&!ng Penn!! I had no idea this hack was working the Avengers. Didn't he do a bunch of the Fox comic flicks? This is depressing news for me. I just found this out a few mins ago. Please I hope Marvel has dumped whatever he did. I'm Already not sold on Joss Whedon a 100% and now I find out that Penn is working on the project too?? Sweet Jebus, my hopes just went from optimistic to low.

Joss Whedon wrote an entirely new script when he came on. The only thing that Zak Penn did that is still relevant to the movie was getting Marvel talking to his friend Jeremy Renner. So that's a win in my book.

I've seen no evidence at all that there are Nazis in this movie.

That is whats wrong with this project so far.

Hmm, there's something familiar about the above post.........I cant quite put my finger on it..........

Why would there be Nazis in Avengers?

If you are talking about Captain America... yes there is Nazis. Hydra ARE Nazis. And the Red Skull fries some of them when they try to take his Cosmic Cube away.

I mean, we have been told this my numerous people involved with the film

I'd assume WildcatNC was joking, referencing the silliness of the Cap thread debating that non-issue :cwink:

To be fair, considering the crap that's been posted over and over on the other thread I think we all understand.

Well that's a little comforting but not by much. What the Devil was Zak Penn even doing involved in the first place? From the guy who did X3, Elektra, F4 and a few other turkeys. He's the go to guy for comic films? I see Marvel is quickly becoming Hollywood. Sacrificing quality for the dollar. They'll rather use a guy who's has some success in the past as opposed to to hiring someone who'll actually deliver a kick ass script. If u gonna make an Avengers movie it's need to be big and well written, just like the a JLA film. My hopes are diminished. I don't believe that Disney and Marvel duped Penn's script. I think Whedon did rewrite but I doubt he started from scratch. Both these guys are just soso.

Well he did rewrite it from scratch, so whether you believe it or not is sort of irrelevant.

First off, Whedon's writing is hardly "soso". What are you even basing that on?

Like was said above, whether you believe it or not Whedon rewrote the entire script.
