The Avengers Where they have gone wrong with the avengers project so far

well Ruffalo mentioned comedy and humor in his interview, im pretty sure some people are gonna have issues with that going by the Thor thread. lol

Now I'm convinced UJ is just trolling (unless he's got some serious mental issues).

Never a truer word said; but, even if it is the latter, I dont see why we should have to tippy-toe on egg-shells on here as a result.

If someone cant handle criticism emotionally, they should either be more careful in regards what they initially post so as to avoid said criticism or if their mental state is simply that fragile, I'd humbly suggest that a mesage board full of fanboys isnt the best place to be; especially when they're largely posting ignorant stuff about the subject matter at hand.

What is sad is that there are people here who think he ''contributes'' to the thread.

Well, when you look at it, the only people (I count two) who have said that havent exactly contributed a whole lot to this thread either, so their input isnt about to carry much weight.

But anyways, I digress, this threads already been derailed enough by either stupidity, ignorance and just plain blatant trollism.

What say we all get back on topic? Onwards and upwards!!!!

Ok, so aside from changing Norton, and the comment about comedy and humor, which I'm sure will be fine, subtle and done properly. Robert Downey Jr is in it after all and Iron Man was fun/funny but when it needed to be, so not a big deal.

But, I have a question. Is it just me? Or does it seem like every time they do Hulk the actor says: "I'm the first actor to actually be the Hulk and do the mo. cap."

...just saying.

Lol - I kinda know what you mean, although to be fair, Ang did the Hulk MOCAP in the Bana movie.

Yup, you're right about that I remember watching the special features.

But I'm almost positive Norton and Roth did their mocap

Comedy? He didn't mention comedy. Just humor. If you know Whedon, he usually has humor in his films. Oh, wait -- humor automatically means comedy or cheese.

Yeah, humour doesnt mean 'comedy' per se. Anyways, there's humour in all of these movies; all that really differs is the degree of humour and it's effectiveness.

it just needs to be character and thematically appropriate.

dammit i was hoping for a three way pie fight between Thor, Cap and IM

Gonna be some awesome 'Three Stooges' style slapping, nose pulling and eye poking in the 1st movie from Tony, Steve and Thor.

:D

which would be which tho?

they poke ironman in the eye but he's got his helmet on. thor slaps with his hammer. but gets a knuckle head.

Cap is Moe
IM is Larry
Thor is Curly

Norton and Roth did do the mocap but they also had a movement coach doing quite a lot of it.

The way the mocap worked in TIH was that Norton and Roth acted out the facial expressions to scenes first and then did the body movement.

Now Ruffalo says that the performance capture tech from Avatar is going to be used which means he will be able to do the facial and body movement capture at the same time; just like normal acting. So in a way, Ruffalo is the first actor to provide a true full performance of the Hulk.

Yep. Was about to post this.

I'm anticipating backlash because of Whedon speak. "The whatever you call it, I don't know what, thingy thing with the something stuff."

I think Whedon is a smart guy. He understands characterization and his Whedonspeak will find itself into the mouths of characters that will fit it. Tony Stark, in my opinion, is a character that will gel really well with Whedon's humor and pop culture references. The humor with Cap will come from him using 40's sayings and what not in modern context, for example.

Norton wasn't in the mo-cap suit.

I don't want a Hulk that looks like Ruffalo [that was one of the problems with the Ang Lee Hulk] - I want a Hulk that look like the Hulk - the Kirby/Ayers Hulk!

But you know what? Distorting Ruffalo for the transformation he may end up looking exactly like that.

im worried am only gonna be able to see thor, iron man and captain america movies as part of the avengers cross over

i really enjoyed the incredible hulk, and im sure come the day the avengers is released on DVD they will release a box set of all the movies together including TIH

but i hope we get some connection to TIH at the least

The only thing I'm worried about as far as the Avengers goes is how much time they are allotting for post-production. With the news of shooting scenes in Cleveland in the fall, I can only wonder if 5 or 6 months is going to be enough time for some epic CG effects in this film.

I mean, look at The Amazing Spider-Man. That started shooting months ago, and it's being released 2 months AFTER Avengers!
