You know I always hear about the excitement over movies for Transformers, Voltron, Power Rangers, and even Zoids. Why is it that Gundam doesn't seem to be joining the big names of Japanese robot franchises brought to the big screen? I mean it's much more bad*** than all of those combined and original characters are always how a version of the show is introduced. This is the only one too where people actually get to be able to fight with robots and not see it in a passive experience! The video games are already awesome, why not see this CGI at the movies yet?

I've always felt that Gundam Wing would make a good franchise/trilogy, where they streamlined the series to a three-film arc (and made all the characters around 18-20 instead of 15). It'd be like a combination of the visuals of Transformers mixed with Star Wars or a LOTR-type epic.

But first you'd need a director to take it seriously and to see it as this huge epic and ot....well a Transformers knock-off (.e. big and dumb). So, I doubt it will ever happen. Oh well.

G-Saviour was really bad, I mean really bad. I remember purchasing that dvd back in the day and was instantly pissed once I started watching it. :cmad:. I always felt like Gundam Wing would have made a great film, the story was very good but knowing Hollywood, they would find ways to dumb it down. 08th MS team could work as well

Imagine G Gundam in all its cheesiness on the big screen.

I think the problem is that studios are still hesitant to greenlight anime movies, but I would like to see a Gundam movie.

Btw Nuffsaid, your avvy is so awesome!

...why the cussing in the thread title? (just saying)..

giant fighting robots don't make sense. just shoot missiles or laser beams at each other.

I don't think Gundam would work well in live action. I mean, military vehicles that are for, for some dumbass reason, shaped like people is something I think is pretty stupid already, but I can give it a pass in animation. In live action though, I think it would look extraordinarily dopey.

Gundam was an awesome series. I would've preferred that over Transformers

yea gundam wing is my favorite one and the only one i could watch. tried watching 008, the others are just too cartoony. also there is a gundam movie i have it on dvd, its old.
