Whether you loved X3 or not, do you think it deserves a direct sequel

I'll have the poll up in a second.

I think they should do a direct sequel, I don't want spin-offs. Yes the third movie was kinda X-meh, but McKellen, Stewart, and Jackman were great enough to make me want a true sequel. They can't just tease us with that ending.

I'd say let Mckellen and Jackman have their spinoffs and make a sequel with everyone else. Wolverine and Magneto can come back later.

I'm pretty nonplussed about any spin-off ideas. A film on Wolverine, Magneto, Storm, Mystique--whoever--would not be as appealing to me as the full collective.

I also don't think there's a tremendous "demand" for them either, just like with Elektra. Who the heck ordered that film? :o Not the fans, that's for sure.

No. I really don't think it does deserve a sequel. I think it deserves a retcon. A "Bobby from Dallas" if you will. :)

There's so much more that needs to be developed - especially with all the events that happened in X3. There's no way any number of spinoffs could tell as much as a direct sequel.

restart, spin-offs are gonna screw the X-men franchise for sure.

Sure, I've always liked the team together,

but I have to admit, with the way things were left in X3...I don't know how much I really want an X4...

I think with considerable effort they can salvage what is left but they'll have to tell Fox to go eat their own *(&^)*&.

Oh my stars and garters

just the spinoffs please. Not that saying I don't want it will make a difference tho. We'll still get X4: Rush of apocolypse or Electric Bugaloo anyway. But I don't want this franchise to go the way of superman and batman before it... it beats my balls that it's actually traveled the same route though...

well anyway stick to the spinoffs. Wolverine's story should make for a great film.

have a nice day.

Unless a Angel and/or Cyclops spinoff (yes, I know I'll probably wait hundreds of years for that one :p) gets greenlit, then I'll just shoot for an X4, or even better, a restart.

Yeah, I thought Fox and Avi Arad said that they learned from that mistake.

Obviously.

Hey no fair! I predicted the Schumacherization would occur back when the list of mutants reached 24 or something to that effect.

Since everybody is complaining about their favorite characters not getting enough screen time, these spin-offs might solve the problem for an X4. So spin-offs would be much appropriate right now. Plus as long as there are many mutants present, I think I’ll be satisfied :)

There had better be an X4 and it had better have Gambit.

I voted for a direct sequel, but I really want to see this Magneto spin-off. :)

That's one thing I'm hoping we can get out of spin-offs.

I love Wolverine and all, but if Fox is so determined to market him, just give the man a damn spinoff already - I'd rather see him be a solo character than the lead hogging all the screentime in a 'team film'

And I have to admit the same goes for Magneto - I love him and I love Ian, but I honestly think we've had enough Mags in the X-Films. Give him a spinoff so we can at least see him go in a new direction.

Spinoffs. This is an instinct issue. There comes a time in a sagas life where one must step back and think about where its going. With the way too fast style of this new team, AND the fact that they cannot make a used idea brand new in a miracle, I say any movies after x3 with the x men will be pointless, meaningless sfx driven action flicks without heart, as the theme of social acceptance is used up, despite folks wanting to force it into overtime just to see one of their comic book characters, which is bad form.

I think I'd rather see them try out individual character spinoffs now. How cool would it be to have a Rogue movie focused on Ms. Marvel etc...?

I really would like to see more of the X-Men universe on-screen...That's something that I cannot deny. The resolutions and arcs covered in the first three X-Men movies do not warrant a direct sequel, IMO. It would seem a little cheap and clumsy. There's not much else that you can take these characters.

As for spin-offs, I would guess I would prefer them by default. There's not much hype or anticipation for them at all just now and for good reason because they're barely greenlighted or not in script stages.

I wouldn't mind seeing the Wolverine spin-off (and maybe Magneto) but they're gonna end up being prequels anyways ('least thats what I heard). I'd prefer a direct sequel, I wanna know how the X-Men are coping after the events of X3.

I think they need to wrap up any loose threads from this one... it was not intended to be the "last stand" when they left it open-ended.

x4, if they do it right, don't rush it, compitant script, better director(ranter has no vision)
